Nothing wrong with moving to a bigger school. If he said that back then he should b eligible right away. I agree with ONB on the best rule is no rule on transfers. KHSAA is so selective with the eligible/ineligible rule that it terrible. If this kid is ruled ineligible I will b SHOCKED!!!! With all other transfers, foreign exchange kids, canadian pipelines kids, and transfers that transfer(Hudson for Cordia) getting eligible it would b a complete joke for this kid to not play. If it were my son and he was ruled ineligible with all that has went on in this state I would b on there steps the next day with Gary C. Johnson. Believe that!!!

OrangenowBlue Wrote:The KHSAA needs to enforce their rules or just get rid of them. It is like a nuclear arms race between Perry Central, Cordia, Hazard, and Knott Central. It is got to the point that they recruit harder than John Calipari. Recruiting in the mountains is like cockfighting, it is against the rules but it is looked at as a normal way of life in many areas of the mountains.
Hopefully one these schools could get the next Andrew Wiggins down here in the mountains and give us all something real exciting to watch. Personally, I think the khsaa allows all these players to transfer and coaches to bring in out of state transfers to help our schools legitimately compete state wide. I love seeing all these new players in the 14th. Makes ball season that much more exciting. Welcome J.Johnson

Who is the bobcats new transfer? Out of the three teams you have mentioned Breathitt year in and year out competes with home grown boys. There have been transfers in the past but over the past five years I can't think of any transfers that have played basketball for Breathitt.

A the 14th region runs by the combs road, Like it or Not their one player away from just being as good as last year, The schedule will be loaded by the time Spurlock changes it I dont know what he will do but it will change.

My Dad's (Coach Fugate) nephew is the transfer mentioned. I guess just having a brother's son play for a Coach is similar to recruiting.?.?.?
Good luck to Perry & Hazard, but if Breathitt wins the 14th Region give the credit to the local boys and the coach. Go Bobcats!!!

Hey I need to make a thread..
Letcher Co. loses in regional action 2012-2013..
Because we know they are nowhere near close of winning it.
Watch out, this one is coming from the right field.
And btw - I did actually honor our bet - I wasn't on BGR for months before the tourney's even started so.. I was caught up in a lot of BS. So I apologize about that.. The months add up so you will be ok.

The bet had nothing to do with months. It was if Cordia lost both games, you couldn't post on BGR until after the boys state tournament.

Heard a rumor yesterday that Johnson was ruled eligible. Way to go KHSAA

What know one understands is the commisioners wife is from Perry County and worked one time at the Board of education in Perry,Co. So if they want to bring in five or six they probably all would be eligable. A this team will be in the finals this year of the region not district.

Heard from a little bird that Famous Amis is still not out of the woods yet, could be out the door as the Super of Perry Co. ???

WYMT's website stated yesterday that the purpose of today's meeting was to discuss the retirement, resignation or termination of John Paul. What was done to warrent possible termination?

It's a laundry list, and part of it has to do with the hiring of Spurlock! And the work done to get Paige elgible!

That information was never released to the public.
His letter of resignation was turned in and accepted before it came to that.
If anyone tells you they know what it is - it is simply he said/she said stuff that was passed around off the record.

We may never know the real truth, but asked to resign, retire or get fired means something money, ethics, etc.
