I disagree....Belfry is definitely an above average football team, but there isn't a team in Pike, Letcher, Martin, Lawrence, Floyd, Perry, and Johnson counties worth a hoot right now except for Belfry, JC, and Hazard.

I am going to have to agree. That's why all the games between the schools from these counties have been high scoring affairs. No defense. Belfry did lose their first tough test, but you better believe Philip Haywood & Co made that group learn from it... I witnessed that Monday practice .. OUCH.

Bojangles was just making an observation. No need to get upset over that. he was just stating johnson is a heck of a back. We all know that there are other players on Belfrys team and belive me mo one has for got about that. the rest of the back field is just as good minus the speed that Johnson has. Any one of them can score on any given play as long as the blocks are made.

I'm not upset. But if you would take about 30 minutes to go back and read each post he's made, they are all complimenting only Johnson. As I said, he is a great ballplayer who will do great things at BHS but he is only 1 of 11 on the field. Without the line, would he be scoring like he does? NO.... Sorry if you were offended but I call it like I see it.

I have been and will continue to be a Belfry fan for years to come but I am so sick of reading posts like this concerning only 1 player. Granted, Justin is a nice young man and a great ball player but he is NOT Belfry Football TEAM. He is ONE part of a finely tuned engine.

Justin has had some great games so far this year and I pray will continue to play with no injuries and finish this season out with an amazing finish. He however is NOT the only RB or player for that m aatter who can run the ball. I know several that can make a TD as long as the line is blocking and doing what they are supposed to do. Speed is a great asset to have and always a plus but without his line blocking for him would he be scoring at will? Kudo's to ALL the players on the field AND sidelines from years past to current ones. YOU are what makes Belfry football what it is along with the great coaching and knowledge instilled in you every single day. Please Bojangles, open your eyes and see that yes, while Justin a good player, he isn't on the field by himself!

Sheldon Clark entered the Belfry game averaging 43.4 point per game and 390 yards per game.

Against the Belfry starters they managed 0 points on about 50 yards total.


Pburg has averaged 49.4 points per game. Belfry starters allowed somewhere around 130 total yards and 6 points, with the 65 yards of that coming on a single play.

I think this lends itself much more towards the fact these two teams are down and have racked up points against similar down competition, but strictly from a stats perspective it is pretty impressive.

No Tomcat Pride my son does not play on the line. He doesn't play at all for that matter. My son was mentioned plenty when he did play though. He didn't need me doing it for him.

The Belfry secondary has had some moments of less than stellar play early on this season. Did they cover well or was Sheldon Clark's ineffectiveness more a matter of the D-line just dominating the LOS?

I haven't witnessed the behavior of this man/woman,and I know I'm not perfect, but someone to get on here and say that their to good to sit any weres near this person,makes me wonder if any of us is good enough to sit in the bleachers with some of you. You really don't need to point fingers. I bet your glad his boy is playing though,he is a great football player and a very fine young man.

Listen, everyone is kidding themselves if they don't think Belfry will be back in Bowling Green. I realize they lost to Henry Clay, but Coach Haywood always puts a game in there like that to get their attention, so to say, then they get focused. That loss was the best thing to make them better. Belfry is loaded and I expect them to roll.

i am bojangles not justins dad i am from pikeville. i know clifford well and to say what u did is pure jealous. pondcreek do not need people like you.his family and him came from great people with outstanding roots.maybe he is too good to be around you . i know clifford and he would want you way down wind of him. so take the advise:lame:

There is NO reason for you to feel bad about what you posted. Not one word was said about the young man. MANY people in the stands feel the same exact way as you posted so don't be ashamed of that. We as Pirate fans ALWAYS wish our players good luck and wish them nothing but the best but parents need to know how to control themselves. Standing up and acting like you are shooting a bow and arrow every time Justin scores (set aside the talk that goes with it) is annoying. There are a lot of people standing up, screaming, clapping, and giving this team praise every time they score. THIS includes Justin. So, don't apologize for speaking the truth and thank you for upholding what I said. As for my son, he has graduated and in his time, scored a few touchdowns himself. I, however didn't ever act as this man does OR post that my son was the best and only player on the team that could score. Now, I think I'll go check the PC threads just to see if Mr. bogangles has posted in that thread. That's how we'll know for sure he is from Pikeville.
