Pikeville had East Ridge on the ropes and then in the second and third games fell apart, the last game was not much better as East Ridge took it also. Very disappointed in the coaching staff as again when Pikeville plays a tough team and gets behind they appear to be lost. What concerned me most was the third game as you could see the body language of the Pikeville players; they looked defeated before the first serve. Pikeville has Allen Central and then Betsy Layne coming up and are now 5-5 over there last ten games. Unless Pikeville is on their very best and Allen Central, 10-0 over their last ten games, is not I don’t see a Pikeville win here. Betsy Layne is more of a mystery team to me, but they are 8-2 over their last ten games so I would assume they are a pretty good team.

Did Pikeville fall-apart or did East Ridge simply take them out of there game?

East Ridge actually just took Pikeville out of their game. I sat pretty much straight across from the benches where I could see both coaches and here are my observations from what I saw; the difference last night was coaching, plain and simple. After we got down in the second game you could tell by the coaches body language that they had no clue as to what to do and the sad part of it was the players knew that they were not going to get any direction from them. The third game was also a disaster. She did occasionally look over at her assistant as to ask “What should we do now”. East Ridge’s coach worked the sidelines, substituted players, worked his players and encouraged players, through all four games.
