I'd say a lot of the reason his plays have been limited is because of his erratic play with penalties and general lack of leadership. He should be a leader on this young team, yet he has shown none of those qualities. His penalties for unnecessary roughness have killed scores and cost them dearly in their struggles. I would love to see him come around and become the player he has the potential to become, but he hasn't shown it yet. Plus, he needs to quit doing that weak showboating celebration routine whenever he does anything on the field. I know I shouldn't be so critical of a kid, but too much inflation of his importance has been stated on this thread for me to lay off. Watch the game, and see for yourself what he contributes on the field, not much thus far except some key penalties cracking back on the smallest kid on the field thirty yards from the ball.

OTF, when you only dress 18 players you need every body you can get in a uniform. I've got to see him play twice and I thought the kid plays hard but doesn't play enough on both sides of the ball. Give him some time and then if he doesn't live up to your expectations you can express what you think. If i were playing on that team I would probably have a few penalities too just out of frustration of losing and being on the rehab road as he has been for a while now. Some kids aren't born leaders and the ones that are not don't want to be, this group is being led by freshmen now and will be untill they graduate. I hate losing just as it sounds like you do but at least give him and the team a break, they only dress 18.

...speaking of "unnecessary roughness?" Harsh.

This is a little much. Prater hasn't had much impact on the field this year but he is a good kid. I agree that he isn't the leader like he should be but neither is anyone else on Paintsville's team. I think the biggest problem with leadership starts at the top with BMR and then works it's way down to the kids. Paintsville isn't 0-3 beacuse of how one kid has performed on the field. Paintsville is 0-3 because they have not been prepared as a football team. This should be a bigger point of concern and not on a 16 year old kid.

I wondered how long it was gonna take for the Paintsville faithful to start this. Wait til basketball season gets closer....

three games into the season and people want to get on here and blame the coach and you have no i deal about coaching yourself so if your not pville supporter and my guess is your not you need to worry about your own coach playing kids out of other school starting them in front of your own

Heard the staff made a switch at the center position with LeMaster out and it is working out a lot better. This is a huge upgrade on our chances for a win if we can play our best both ways.

Each year, each team comes to a point in the season where it is put in a position where either you win or the season is consider a disappointment. Looking at Paintsville current position (not winning either or both Paris and Jenkins) and the remaining schedule I feel the Young Tigers have reached that point. A loss to Allen Central would put Paintsville at 0-4 and looking a 0-10 season in the face. BMR is a great motivator but they’re not much anyone can make positive for a 0-10 season. However, a win put Paintsville in a position where they could be 3-7 and if some of the future losses are competitive BRM could use this to build for next year. What you thoughts?

I think this is spot on. We always have to continue to build for the future. This involves improving team and idividual fundamentals for the rest of this year. Will the coaching staff do this? I hope so but only time will tell. I do think Paintsville gets their first win tonight.
