Justin Johnson to Perry Central

warmachine Wrote:If Johnson would of moved to Scott County, nobody would of said a word or could of cared less. Knott done the same thing with the Justice clan. It just so happens that Johnson is the top player in all of Eastern Kentucky and he is now a Commodore. I know Hazard would of loved to of had him enroll up there. I dont have nothing against Martin County, but where would you rather live? Hazard or Inez? Thats pretty much a no brainer. Especially if you are a really good athlete. Hazard isnt paradise but its a lot closer to larger cities and they are basketball crazy there. Glad to have you JJ. And this is the highpoint in a lot of peoples lives. High School sports mean a lot.
You're dumber than a bag of hammers if you think that if his coach would have taken a job at Scott County the week before he decided to move that that no one would have said a word, then perhaps those are ball-peen hammers.

I never said anything about Spurlock coaching at Scott County. I said if Johnson just up and transfered to Scott County. And as far as being dumber than a bag of hammers, well your the UPIKE Fan arent you?

I don't have a problem with Justin bettering himself. However, I do have a problem with the kids loyalties to their schools anymore. Kids are transferring & being recruited weekly. Not saying Justin was recruited to Perry, but these things are happening way too often and it's getting ridiculous.
#64
U guys know Justin wasnt recruited to Perry Central. No way. Haha

Johnson is good, but not the best in EKY. There is no poll where Johnson is ranked ahead of Shane Hall. I dont think you will find one either.

I messed the quote up, but you see what i meant.

^ I would add that Johnson was the 3rd best big man in the 15th. 1st being Hall and 2nd Kasongo. Johnson is good but please!!! Lets not make a duck a swan..
#68
I was told that PCC and Spurlock didnt want johnson but he just showed up at school yesterday. I bet they make him go back to SC.
#69
Justin Johnson is 10x tougher than Hall. Kasongo didnt even know what a basketball was when he first moved here. Heck I saw him shooting a soccer ball in the gym for a couple days.

He is a swan. Let me say this: Hall and Kasongo have a better upside at the next level because of size. The better highschool player is Johnson!!!!

....Why wouldn't they want him? I'm confused.

Rarely anymore are H.S. kids transferring for Educational reasons. It's ALL purely Sports related and sadly, it's even effecting Middle School and Elementary kids. Is it the kids fault, I don't think so. It's all how can we make "ourselves" better. We need to win that championship and get the glory and beat who we can to a pulp to get recognized. Again all of this might be legit, but I think it comes down to, if he moved and how was the move. Was it a parent promised job thing. Was they furnished a residence. All of these things need to be questioned. Not at all wanting the kid to get in trouble and if he doesn't want to be around Martin Co. then fine and dandy, but the adults in this situation are the ones calling the shots. What have they willing to jeapordize for the sake of winning. This is not a case, I don't think, of bettering the kid, because he did not have a problem until recently apparently. Gone are the days of playing for what's across the front of your chest. It's all about how I can better get the name on the back and what benifits can come with it. Shameful!!! Again Good Luck to Justin, but I hope it's all legit!

Not to stir the pot or anything. But a week before spurlock took the job johnson spent the night with him on a friday, the next day saturday the pair went on a golfing trip wtih a PCC administrator. so if this doesnt smell fishy than idk what would. i have heard johnson say he doesnt want to stay at SCHS bc he cant get to a state tournament there and thats what he wants to accomplish. so if you ask me it looks like a recruiting job toppled on a athletic transfer. all in all MC gets it stuck to them again i just hope all sides are happy that they havent hurt anyone but the players that are on the current SC roster they had hopes of a great season all summer and wroked hard to reach that point and than it collapses on top of them with in a couple weeks. the best team doesnt always win, but you know we have already learned that lesson in the first round of the region last year.

How many student-athletes have gone to Johnson Central from Martin County since coach Matney went there to coach football and wrestling? Seems like there was a 171 state champion wrestler with the same initials as Justin Johnson that went to JC after grade school...seems like he was a pretty decent running back too.

I have not heard much from the Patriot fans KCC must be either very confident or worried!
This move must change the rankings in the 14th to make PCC the heavy favorite!

Circumstantial, I'm sure. ballstar says, PROVE IT!

I don't care if Perry Central went back in time and recruited the dream team. Nothing could force a Knott Central fan to get on Bluegrass Rivals during football season.

He did he go on the Golf Trip with? Curious. Didnt know anyone could pick up a golf club at Central office. They do have some good marathon runners though.
#80
No member of the "administration" went golfing with Justin Johnson.

So if someone has better upside at the college level wouldn't that mean they are better players. Thats like saying college kids that don't make it in the NBA are better the the ones that do. :ChairHit: I for one hope he stays in the 15th so Hall and Kasongo can prove he is 3rd best again this year. He is still a duck until he proves he is a swan.

No, more potential but not always better players. I love shane hall and think he is the ONLY D1 player in the mtns RIGHT NOW. Doesnt mean we have some others they can play D1, just right now.

Going after grade school is legal. You can START at any place you like. (You can also definitely argue THAT change is for academic reasons.) The rules are different AFTER you've already enrolled at and played for a high school.

I think everyone need to grow up and quit downin a 16 year old kid
#88
When it comes down to Shane hall and Justin I will have to go with Justin by a long shot. From the game I have watch hall play, he acts like he is scared to death to go under the goal and rebound. Justin on the other hand is a very more aggressive player, and he put it all ove shane hall this past summer.
#89
Let the kid be eligible he is a good kid and deserves the best shot he can get.
