Not if they can't stop the run and cut down on TO's. They will be ok, if they get passionate about playing. Tonight...they were not and the Camels owned them.

They're not getting the quality athletes anymore. Ncc successes are not in their future. Shut it down archbishop Foys.

Kinda glad to see this.
Strike one up for the public schools.

It was not a fluke, CC was the better team. NCC was the team that made just enough mistakes to get you killed. Durham is a baller, and the CC defense may have given up some yards, but they made some hits (I would say NCC receivers were gun-shy about the slant patterns called)and got some turnovers that were crucial in them winning the game.
Here is my write up of the game:

Ignorance....love it.
Any way, to the game. NewCath does not have the talent to overcome so many mistakes. CC was probably too much for them this year at full strength. When you factor in injuries a 10 pt advantage becomes 20. When you don't tackle and don't hold on too the ball it becomes 39. That said Durham has to be getting looked at to play TE somewhere. He is an athlete.

Make any excuse you want for NCc. The truth is they're not any good. They have zero chance of winning another state title in the foreseeable future. Their freshmen team is abysmal too.

No excuses, its a cyclical thing for NewCath. Maybe they win, maybe they don't. The only thing that matters is that they graduate and become awesome members of society who get on the internet at the age of 50 and make up threads about their old rival high school. I pray they know that success. How fulfilling to be able to go up to the Midway and talk about your high school days when you used to play the cymbals in the band and watch good teams play and then get on here and be awesome.

Looks like somebody that simply can't stand the truth.
The economy isn't helping NCC right now either. Kids in Ft. Thomas who maybe would have gone to NCC in the past are staying in town and playing for Highlands. Three or four players a year can make a difference in the quality of depth on the team.
Why pay $5k+ when you can get a better education for the taxes you pay for the public school? It's a no brainer. NCC will never have the technologies and opportunities that Highlands has available to students. The school doesn't have the financial means to keep up with the changing world of computer programs etc..
I don't live in Highlands district. My kids went to the Catholic grade schools. After comparing the private school options academically to Highlands, it made much more sense to pay $4600 for Highlands, than $5000+ for the private education. I can't imagine it even being a legimate option of paying the NCC tuition versus going to Highlands for free. The catholic schools haven't progressed their teaching methods much from what it was 25 years ago as far as I could tell. Still a lot of papers, pencils and worksheets versus ipads, laptops, and smart boards.
Lastly, nothing wrong with going to the Midway and remembering all the good wins over rivals. I recommend the taco basket.

Win or lose, we will continue to support NCC - and do so without disrespecting other schools or their programs!

I'm a Camel, but I concede that having 7 players out of the NCC line-up made it an almost impossible task to keep up with the Camels.

Why are all those guys hurt? Poor off season conditioning? Freak injuries?

Nope, they are not a 4A powerhouse with enough athletes to ONLY play one way...... You play teams that are much larger physically and 2 players deep at positions, you get injured!

This was a good game for CC. I wish I could say great but there were too many mistakes in my opinion for CC last night that could have cost the game if playing a better team.
I am hoping people (parents) start buying into Coach Lickert's 2 platoon theory. There are parents who still think kids should be playing both sides of the ball but it is evident after watching last night and the number of cramps both teams had the 2 platoon thing WORKS! Both Tylers (Walsh & Durham) are beast for the Camels.
The Cooper game next week will be a good test for the Camels.

From what I heard they had 4 - 5 starters out either way they had quite a few kids not dressed for the game that could have helped with their depth!

Not butt hurt, they got crushed. Your ignorant private, public babble is what I was responding to. Your posts about how unfair football is give me a chuckle.

Wouldn't have mattered last night. CC was 10pts better than NewCath right now anyway

I am a Camel Also. but the 3 boys out for NCC would not have been a factor. We watched the films from them playing Dixie and McNick. Not good. In years past in the youth leagues, the better players went to NCC to play. Now those players are going to Campbell County. We are seeing a change.
As far as 2 platoons. It makes sense. Coach areas to have 2 sides of the ball. It showed Friday night. Fresh legs on offense made Dylan Hayes of NCC bend over gasping for air. When they finally took him off defense he started getting his rest and looking pretty good. Like a normal Dylan Hayes.
I love what is going on in Camel land. District Champs last year, now lets see where we can go this year. Buy into Coach Lickerts philosophy and see what happens.

Best thing that the Camels have ever done is get an infrastructure. Now the culture seems to be changing out there. Field parties, and parties in general are now not as important as playing football. If Lickert can continually get his best players out, the Camels are going to be continuously improving. Bout time, they only have 3,000 boys out there.
