I don't see class as big of an issue as some do. For example: In 2000 and 2001, the only loss Danville suffered was to Boyle while winning the Class A title. I think the same is true in 2003. (In fact the only losses Highlands had that season were two to Boyle and one to Danville I think)
Just looking at what other factors might be included.
I agree with the bonus points for beating a team that ended up as a state champion that year, particularly if it was in a bigger class.

I see the arguments about "bigger class" again. In some respects I see it as an important tool to evaluate however I'm not so sure that class is as important as quality. Highlands has always played up and Danville did until they had to move Class A. Yet the quality always rose up.
For example in '93 Danville was playing AA (enrollment would have been A). They defeated 4A Shelby County by 14 (who was the state runner-up that year) and decimated Lincoln County (who was 3A runner up that season). Size didn't matter to them.
Boyle dominated some good 4A teams from Henry Clay during that '00 to '04 run as well as other 4A teams (some good, some not). I don't think size is as deciding a factor as some make it out to be at least in KHSAA football.

Unfortunately, I just do not have the time to devote to the ideas I had above, so redoing my spreadsheet from the other thread has given me a list of the top 10 over the last 10 years using the earlier criteria. It comes out as:
1. Trinity
2. Highlands
3. St. Xavier
4. Boyle County
5. Belfry
6. Beechwood
7. Newport CC
8. Bell County
9. Bowling Green
10. Mayfield
1. Trinity
2. Highlands
3. St. Xavier
4. Boyle County
5. Belfry
6. Beechwood
7. Newport CC
8. Bell County
9. Bowling Green
10. Mayfield

No Homer influence there. :eyeroll:
Belfry is in the top 10, no doubt. But Trinity has to be #1 and HHS #2. Upon that, there really is no debate.

Now slow down Mister Non-Debatable
May I remind you Belfry has not lost to either of those teams in the past decade.
I keed of course,,, even though similar logic has been applied to a Mountain Team who should remain #1 "until a mountain team beats them".

Any list that doesn't have Bowling Green on it, is bogus.
