this will be the biggest game of the regular season for both teams. since both teams have high powered offenses who are both capable of scoring 60+ points per game the team whose defense creates turnovers and 3 and outs wins.
I think if las vegas would make a line for this game it would be 6pts williamsburg simply because of their defense.

Everybody is talking about this game, I can't wait to see these to face off against pineville.. Pineville has really come along way, they got two great athletes, tanner mike, and Dalton hughett from middlesboro.. Mike 6'0 185 run 4.6 WR,RB,OLB.. And Dalton hughett 6'2 260 runs 4.8 FB,MLB, these kids are a massive increase for the mtn. Lions.. The mike kid is a great target o. Offense, and makes big plays, idk many ppl who can tackle the hughett kid, he played 4 games last year and had 10 Tds, they were all 10 yards or more.. Both great athletes.. The hughett kid loves the weight room, benches 365, and squats 650+.. everyone is looking down on them, don't be surprised if the lions go big this year especially with these kids coming in..

You'll get your chance at Williamsburg on the 31st. If I'm not mistaken, didn't both these guys play for M'boro last season when Harlan beat them. I agree they are good athletes but there's just not enough like them playing for Pineville. It didn't seem to bother Middlesboro or North Laurel too much. Also,Dalton Hughett must have grown 4in. and put on 50lbs. since last season. Sure can't hardly see him running a 4.8. That would make him as fast as a tailback but with offensive lineman size. You might want to keep a tight riegn on him also because like at M'boro he had a ton of late hits and personal fouls. He might cost you more than he's worth. We'll all be watching to see if you beat somebody worth noting. Good luck to ya Lion Pride.

BACKWOODS, i coached both of these kids, the refs were against both of them at middlesboro, and growed 4 inches, hes ben 6'2 since his 8th grade year, and when we took him to lousiville camp his freshman year, he ran a 4.87, 4.89, 4.83, the kids is very smart, i watched them play everygame last year, im not taking these kids sides, im just sayn there was alot of bad penalties that shldnt have ben called, and if im not mistakin, he ddnt get one penalty agens harlan, and after the bell game the refs appoligized to him.. nevrtheless yes he did have a bad temper, but ELAM is a good coach, and has helped the ung men alot.. im telling you, these mtn. lions have heart, the may have only 25 ppl on the team, but the whole team is coming a long way.. i beleve they got a chance to do big things this year.. i wish all the teams luck, im just saying williamsburgh blew them out last year, look for it to be a great game this year, and i dont beleve harlan cant keep up with pinevilles D, they only beat pineville by a TD last year, and they have returned everybody, and gained 2

^^^^ dude, ref's don't take personal feelings on the field.
08-22-2012, 09:06 PM
They don't on the field, but after the game win the teams go to the locker room and the ref hollers out your number to apologize that they made the calls on the wrong person, that takes a true man with respect.. But all I'm saying is that the mtn. Lions will be bettr this year, these kids are working hard in the weight room, there a small family in a big atmosphere, an I wish them the best of luck, I wish all teams an injury free year.. Just everyone watch the lions, u guys will be real surprised..

And the game is at Harlan this year. In my opinion Pville has no chance to beat Harlan this year.
This thread is supposed to be about Harlan and Wburg. We can discuss Pville when it is their turn to play either of these teams.

Harlan and Willamsburg is still one of the great rival games left in that district. They have played some great games over the years and several of them have been at Willamsburg. I look for Harlan to win by a couple of TD's this year because they have more skill players.

I am so ready for some football after the week that I have had. Williamsburg being the home team should be favored by a touchdown, but I am going to keep on my green team and ride them until they throw me. Look for Saragas to have a big night both with his arm and his feet, and Eric young could break one returning kicks or punts and he has good hands to make a catch in traffic. Mountain pride says Dragons 37 Jackets 28. 2-0 here we go.

I agree this is still a great rivalry, but how do you figure that Harlan has more skill position players? Both teams should have the same amount, but what im thinking your meaning is that Harlan has better skill position players, in which case, i would have to disagree. Wburg is loaded in the back field and stacked at the receiver positions. If any thing the line was the biggest question for Wburg coming into this season.
To be honest, i would be surprised if Wburg doesnt win by atleast 2 TD's.
Just my opinion, but this is a very good Wburg team. Harlan's secondary will be on their heels all night, and if there not careful, Hamblin will burn them running the ball.

I can't predict a winner but I can tell anyone that they can't have any better skill players than the Burg. D Aalton Sizemore, Cory Shelton WO Skylor Griffin WO HambiinTE Andrew Griffin TE Patrick RB Purdie R Michael Rose Receiver, as far as defense is concerned Defense line average weight 270 all veterans All the line backers return one of them led the state in tackels 169 last year. I beleive whoever doesn't turn the ball over wins it will be a good contest.

Debated on this and the home team usually wins and Harlan fasinated me by putting 41 on Pikeville last week. THis game will be in the high 30s but i cant pick a winner. I normally go with the home team but this game is one of the hardest to predict.

You gotta remember that Harlan played pretty good defense against BELL CO.. And I can't believe you are even using the Jellico game as proof of thier offense. Jellico won't even come close to winning a game all year. Harlan's offense put 42 on a team that might make it to region this year.

I can't wait. I'm looking Overbey,Boggs,Allen,Morris and Wilson along with the rest of the Dragon D to have a great game tonight. I want to see Overbey and Boggs introduce themselves to Sizemore right out of the box. GO BIG GREEN !!!!

This won't be the same defense that had 5 or 6 starters out in the playoffs and they for sure ain't Jellico. You'll see. I predict that Sizemore won't be able to stay in the pocket all night and if Overbey gets a shot at him he may not be able to stay in the game. Overbey is 6'2" 230lbs and every bit as fast as Sizemore. You'll see. Williamsburg might win,Harlan might win but one things for sure it will be very physical and both teams will know they were in a real game.
