Oh but last season with Cordia adding Hudson to their 7 win team they moved up to a top 5 or 10... But Hazard returns everyone from a 20 win season plus adds Jordan Olinger. I can't wait for ball season... Hazard is going to be trouble for anyone in the 14th and I can't wait. (with or without Hudson)

Hazard will be great this year.
Nothing is a sure thing....
look at how talented PCC was last year and didn't make it out of the District.
I think on any given night an Al Holland coached team can beat anyone.
This just makes it easier.
Hudson was good last year - but he was still raw.
I think Al Holland could reign him in and make him elite in the mountains.

All I know is....
Perry - lost Jaysean Paige
Knott - lost Zach Davis
Buckhorn - lost Matt Day
Hazard - adding Jordan Olinger & Chris Hudson
I know Breathitt is a good team but they always seem to have a hard time winning in March.

^ If Hudson gets to play no problem, then this at least puts hazard at number 2 right behind Breathitt. They return everyone but the transfer from south laurel

Where did I ever say Hazard wouldnt be trouble for anyone? I agree with or without Hudson, Hazard is still up there with the top dogs of the 14th. Without Hudson, I would put them behind Breathitt and Knott, with Hudson AND Olinger put them right there with BC.I think adding Olinger is absolutely huge for Hazard, didnt know he was coming back for them. A 20 win season is never short of impressive but out of those 20 wins other than Johnson Central which was played @ Hazard, who was an impressive win?
I still think its Breathitt's region to lose.
This might be the only year other the Hatcher's 1st year, where he'll come into the season with not as much pressure as he's felt the last couple seasons. That same year, PCC made it to the championship game region with not much talent at all. This could be huge advantage for a PCC team that seems like everyone is forgetting bout.

Call me crazy - but this could be a breakout year for Braxton (as if he hasn't broken out yet)
Unless Cornett steps up, Braxton is going to need to fill up the score sheet.

okay. I'll set the record straight. Chris' mother and uncle have moved here..with Jennnifer Miller until I'm sure she will be provided housing in the city limits. She has been here three days and already has a job at the Pavilion...Sounds like they have taken care of all the "rules". No tears on Lotts Creek maybe some hurt feelings from all those who took care of Chris. As for Cordia being on the bottom again...then they have no where to go be up. We shall see. And yes you can be sure that this is the facts about Chris

I agree, Braxton won mvp of the region tournament as a 7th grader so he a was breakout player as soon as his stepped on the floor for PCC. However, I see what your saying, I too think Braxton will be a more of score 1st player this upcoming season and IMO that's what they are going to need trying to fill Jaysean's shoes. I think the key to how successful PCC is this season is Dalton though, he has to more of aggressive than last season.
I cant wait for HS bball season!!!

You just cant blame Hudson for wanting to go to Hazard. Winning is the goal for any kid, I dont care where they go to school. This makes Hazard the top dog in the region, especailly if Olinger plays. Hazard will be DEEP.

Yeah, adding Olinger is a huge factor. Hudson is the better offensive player but Olinger brings Hazard a defensive presents down though which they would have lacked IMO without him. If Olinger does indeed come out for them with Hudson I will take my presivous comment back and say they will be the favorite to win region. A lot can happen between now and October, most of us had no clue who Jaysean Paige was during this time last season.

Dalton will need some intestinal fortitude and better hands.
Last year felt like a letdown year for Dalton to me.
Defensively he was a great shot blocker and he pulled in his share of rebounds...
but he has to get his butt on the block and go to work.

Welp - I've heard his mother is here, was told I was wrong, and was now told that I was right again.
However, I don't really think that talking about this kid's family and their situation is really professional for us to do on a public forum. All of this will be in the light sooner or later - but let's just wait for the eligibility ruling and see where it goes from there.
Cordia has already challenged the transfer from what I'm being told.

^Rhodes told the team he was just going to let him go. There was no use in fighting with him or his mom. But someone else may have persuaded Rhodes not to release Chris, idk. If i was Cordia though I would be worrying about getting these others transfers eligible instead of worrying about a player that doesn't want to be there. I think the family's that help take care of Chris are more hurt over the situation then Rodrick. But you never know, Rhodes and the Commissioner are pretty close.
08-03-2012, 01:14 PM
^I was told the day he showed up that it was turned in...
but I don't like the idea of challenging transfers anyway.
If the kid doesn't want to play for you - I don't see why anyone would say "you can't play anywhere"
But - that's just me. If I was coaching I may sing a different tune.

^That's the way i feel, and the way Rod talked the day he left he feels the same. But there's a decent amount I'm pretty sure that isn't willing to let go so easily. But that's just my opinion. Hope it works out for both Cordia and Chris. Hate to see another player set forever waiting for word from the Khsaa while the seasons going on.

Wished he hadn't left. Cordia would have given some teams a scare next year.
08-05-2012, 08:32 PM
Cordia is always gonna be bad.
08-05-2012, 08:36 PM
They just need some coaching, never had any coaching..... Rhodes is in a long list of bad coaches
08-05-2012, 10:10 PM
Saying Cordia never had any coaching is a little strong: George Cornett, Bobby Ralph Smith, Randy Campbell, Larry Hayes,William Madden, Dook Combs, Jeff Honeycutt--all these guys did a good job. The problem at Cordia is the small enrollment. When you have 100-120 students in high school, you are lucky to have five talented players let alone any kind of bench. Kids like to play basketball whether it's a large school or a small one like Cordia. Lots of negative people out there. Cordia folks have to let it roll like water off a duck's back and keep on playing.
08-05-2012, 11:24 PM
JBS had success with smaller enrollment.
I would imagine Hazard isn't much bigger than Cordia.
Buckhorn has done alright for themselves lately as well.
The bottom line is they don't have a reputation for winning.
Cordia is the school that the bench players at bigger schools go to in order to get playing time.
That is simply the standard that has been set lately and the only way to change that is to win with what you've got.
It will take Rhodes some time - Hudson looked like he was a man among boys with the Lions last year and it will be hard to overcome his transfer.

The school years hasnt started yet and if Hudson did transfer why Hazard? I would have went to Perry before Hazard, But thats fine all I know is Perry has help coming they will probably enroll after labor day thats what im being told

^ Perry doesn't recruit in-state
08-06-2012, 04:21 PM
^^ Why would a good player want to go to Perry???
Couldn't get out of the district with 1 of the best players in the state.... Have to let ur stars shine..

I can see why he would want to go to Hazard...
But cmon ekff - you're acting like Hazard has won a District title or made it out of the first round of region in the last 2 years.

Hazard didn't have Jaysean Paige and lose first round district... Nothing u can say..... Best player in the 14th region since Ben Bowling...... Perry people just have to shut up and take it, they messed that one up..... But all was saying is that may hurt Perry's recruiting, kid may say "hey they couldn't win with Jaysean!"
Plus I believe when Hazard recruits, most of the time we do pretty good with them...
P.S. District Titles.... LOL..... Oh yeah ur school hangs banners for District Titles, don't they? LOL @ District Banners

Perry didn't win with Jaysean - but they won the year before without him.
I have no doubt that Perry should have beaten Buckhorn last year - but it ain't like Perry is the first team to lose a game that they should have won.
Even though Perry lost in the first round last year - not many people would've said "Man, Hazard was a lot better than Perry Central last year"
In all honesty - for the last 3 years it has been PCC and KCC at the top of the Region while Hazard is hanging out in 3rd place.
Two years ago I would've said Hazard was better for most of the year due to Davis going down for the Patriots - but as soon as he came back they showed who the better team was.
No one is going to take any comparison of Hazard and Perry Central serious when it's me and you talking about it anyway so we're wasting our time lol
Let's get back on topic. This is a thread dedicated to the hype rising up over on Lotts Creek. I did hear that they had a few cats coming in that could make an impact immediately.
Anyone know anything legitimate about that? And set our expectations a little more reasonably this time.

I hope the Cordia faithful learned a lesson last year and will keep their mouths shut about what "cats" are coming to Lotts Creek. The more the merrier I'd say!

I think Hudson should have to go back to Texas. Hazard lives off recruiting as much as Louisville Trinity does in football. Its pitiful.

People have been making a big deal over some kid from ny they said was comin in, but Ive yet to see him here so idk. Have to see once school starts. I'll say this though Rhodes honestly is tryin to turn this whole thing around. Hope it get done.
