Bell IMO will be better this year than 2011. 20 Seniors and most started last year. Alot more experience this year.

When the evenings and Robert-kitties get together it should be a very competitive and entertaining game. Leonard's Loser--Bell Co.

Bell will miss davenport alot this year.

Watch and listen for the name Polly this year. Great RB. Bell Co is known for great RB's.

Polly was BIG late in the game last year while Davenport struggled a bit and the two ended up splitting carries, 19 carries for 116 yards and a TD, 1 Rec and it went for a TD as well for Polly vs. Lex Cath last year. That was also before he made the move to linebacker on defense as well. That kid is a big time player for Bell coming into the 2012 season. But I agree with other posters that this 2012 team may be better than 2011, lot of experience with this group and a very athletic and talented crop of freshman that may see significant playing time as well. My heart says Bell Co by 6, but my mind says Lex Cath takes one from us again. Bolin is tough to deal with.

Bell County.

Would be a good game to see. Bell better work on covering the 5-7 yard out, curls, and slants. The secondary of Bell will definitely be tested.

I never did get the chance to go down and watch this one last year. But anytime a mountain team is playing a Lexington or Louisville team, I'll pull for the mountains. I truely believe that Bell will be a more solid all around team this year. I will say its going to come down to the 4th quarter, either start it strong or finish strong. Goodluck to the Bobcats in this one. This would open up some eyes if Bell wins.

You hit the nail on the head with that one.
In order for Bell to win, they have got to stop the short passing game of Lex Cath.
If they can manage to do that, they have a real shot.

Anyone know if this game will be on ihigh?
07-27-2012, 06:04 AM
LC will win this game going away, Bell's defensive backs won't be able to stop the slants. As for Polly he's a good back but he is no Davenport, not enough speed to out run people like Davenport could.

True, but Polly is alot harder to bring down. Don't let Polly's speed fool you.

Last year Bell Co lost 33-27. Bell had the ball inside the 10 and the clock ran out.

Last years game Polly had 116 yards on 19 carries and a TD in the shadow of Davenport. Bell Co as a team had 431 yards rushing.

You have no idea of what you are talking about,

Polly is a good hard nosed runner, but I agree he is no Davenport. After watching them for a few days though, I think you'll be suprised at the defensive backfield. They look pretty good to me.

I agree Polly is Davenport but he will be remembered bay many this year.

No, Polly isn't as fast as Davenport, but like someone else said, don't doubt his speed. If he breaks away he's not gonna get chased down by many people. He's as tough as they come. Davenport was more of a finesse back, but you wont see Polly shying away from contact. His biggest contributions in my mind will be on defense though seeing how he played after he switched to linebacker. Lots of talent and depth at running back as well, he's not the only one that can play. Him & Collett both could start nearly anywhere else, and have had the talent and ability to do so since they were freshman but waited patiently behind Davenport. But don't think Polly is the only weapon, Oslonian can run, Collett, Sophopmore Austin Caldwell is a very good back as well. I'm interested in seeing how Dylan Cox plays as well after having a somewhat surprising freshman year.

To all you doubters on Polly.....can you not remember past years?
They said nobody could replace Robbins, they said nobody could replace Greer, and now Davenport, and everytime its said, Bell's new starting back always burns there team for a crap load of year and the cycle continues. Because there was many backs just since 2000 that i ddnt mention.
Only problem is, we already know Polly is capable of doing that and theres still doubters.

Personally I pick Polly over Davenport in big game situations. Late in the playoffs in big games, Davenport struggled. He was a finesse back no matter who likes it, he liked to get to the outside or hit wide open holes and out run everyone. Polly will bite down on his mouth piece, lower his head and throw himself into people and get those tough yards. But he's more than capable of bouncing it outside as well. What he lacks in speed that Davenport had, he makes up for in toughness and strength.

Backs usually wear down toward seasons end. I take nothing from this Polly kid. He has shown to be tough, but, to say Davenport wasn't tough and lowered the boom when he had to, come on. He used his head as much as his skill. Polly will do good as all featured backs do. We don't have to get into any stat comparisons this year or who is thoughest. As long as he get's his job done and keeps the attitude under control, he'll be another great.
Big game situations. Hmm. Remember Bell vs. Lex. Laf.? Little D took the load there. Let's get on the "pro Bell" instead of who is the best or has been the best. I'm for watching all these kids excel, not who outdid who. Personally, I think your outstanding kids this year will be: (1) Cox. (2) the kid from pathfork that played D,end last year, (sorry, can't think of his name). and (3) the Caldwell kid who I think will get even carries this year. I've watched him every game through grade school and he's bullitt proof.
Davenport is gone. Let's move on. He put up his stats, so let's let the kids use that as a goal to overcome.

i think the name u are looking for is jeffery saylor. everybody seems to be forgetting about ryan collett. hes a very good back too.polly will have to be better this year than last he will be getting all the attention like davenport got last year also if the line doesnt produce doesnt matter how good a back he will be or people think he will be .one thing i know is lex cat doesnt like to be hit so if they catch the short pass make them pay.

Is this their first game of the year? If Lex Cath is going to win the 4A title like their is talk about, they should and better beat Bell fairly easily.
