TMZ.com and Batista announced Early Friday Morning that he will will make his professional MMA debut for the CES MMA league on October 6th from Providence, Rhode Island.

Batista’s MMA opponent will be Rashid Evans (not UFC Fighter Rashad Evans).

Batista attempted to join Strikeforce in 2010 however, they could not come to terms.

^ Agreed. You know this will be a handpicked fight, but I'm putting my money on the opponent. Batista has zero fighting/wrestling background. This could be a squash....

If Batista were a little younger and in his athletic prime, I would think he would have a chance against an average fighter, but Batista has to be approaching his mid/late 40s at this point. With that said, I do not know anything about the guy he is fighting. It would stand to reason that they would schedule him a winnable fight because he could definitely be a drawing card for them if he has any success, at all.
