Playoffs coming 2014?
#1
The BCS commissioners and Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick on Wednesday endorsed a seeded four-team playoff model for college football that would begin for the 2014 season.

The commissioners' consensus must be approved by the BCS presidential oversight committee, which meets June 26 in Washington D.C. If approved, the four-team playoff would replace the BCS system, which has been in place since 1998.

SEC will still win every year
#4
Still wish it was more than 4 teams but I will take any playoff system.

^ I'd have to agree with this

YES! Finally! Just wish it was starting this year, lol..

It's about time. Looking forward to this.

With only a four-team playoff I only think only conference winners should be included.

Is that because in most years the top 3-4 teams would beat OSU? I'm sure all fans of teams not in the SEC feel the same way. The less SEC teams allowed in the better.Confusednicker:

I think they should add more than 4 teams and than I'd be a lot happier. But this is a step in the right direction.

Four is a step in the right direction. In order to be a true playoff, they need at least eight teams.

Its about time we get a playoff

This playoff system is the answer to our prayers....well...for the most part. Won't be satisfied till there is a playoff with ALL Conference Champions in FBS.Red

I think this is great and I've been wishing for this for years. Don't get me wrong because I still tune in to the NFL some but not as much as in the past. I am just sick of NFL players, coaches and owners. I think a lot of people are sick of the NFL and the way they do things. College ball to me is just more pure and I think with this post season and especially if they add more teams down the road that this will start to cut into the NFL profit just a little. Maybe this will get the NFL to make some changes. I also wonder if some powers that be in the NFL were fighting this quietly behind the scenes.

If they do this 4 team crap with the conference winners it will be just as big of a snoozer as the title games are now...

You've only got 4 slots - there would be some conference champs in there with 2 losses....dare I say 3. It needs to be the top 4 - and I hope to goodness they put that scrandy Boise State in there and let em get trounced by Bama one good time.

32 team playoffs with the first games played on Thanksgiving weekend.
"sweet" 16 the next week
8 the following
4 the next week (before Christmas)
National Championship on New Years Day

If the Bowls want to continue they can invite some of the loser schools to play a traditional bowl game

Absolutely not. And 8-5 ACC champ or a 8-5 Big East champ are not in the same country let alone league as say an 10-2 SEC/Big 12 or B1G champ. Plus there are more then 4 BCS conferences. Take the top four nationally ranked teams and go with that. I say a playoff including the top 8 would be ideal but you have to take what u get.

I wish they would go with the FCS playoff system (16 teams). Seems to work well for them.
