New Player at Betsy Layne
#1
I heard a rumor that BL was getting an big OL/DL player for this coming year, any word on this.
#2
That's what I heard. Hope he moves, so he can be eligible right away!
#3
I heard he moved from his dad's to his mom's and he's just waiting to finish up freshman finals.
#4
That's great! He will be a great addition to the bobcat program!
#5
Anybody have any info on this kid?
#6
6'5 286 lbs can play both side of the line

He is a big boy. Going to be a 10th grader? He will be a big help for sure.

Boys size isn't everything well that sounds bad but just because a boys big doesn't make him a savior. I'm not bashing the kid, calling him out, or anything I'm just saying size isn't everything. This is really sounding like a Extenze commercial. I played with a boy in high school who was 6'5 and 260 and he couldn't lift a sack of potatoes. He wouldn't much the ball player either though.

Who's this big guy. whats his records and time on varsity last year?
#10
whats his Stats from last year how much varsity time and tackles did he get? lol
:flame:
#11
Trust me I watched him at Adams and this year as a Freshman he can play.I"ll check on his stats .
#12
I think he had 15 tackles , 1 fumble recovery all in less then 20 minutes game time.
#13
Does he have a name??????????
#14
Yes , but he wants to wait until he is enrolled at Betsy Layne on Thursday.
#15
I heard LexCath wants him to come visit... lol
#16
You must be talking about another boy, his parents live in floyd co. And don't have any plans of going to Lex.
#17

6'5", 286 and will be an incoming freshman or sophomore? I never saw anyone approaching that size in any of the junior high/middle school games I attended this past year. Saw some decent sized kids in the 5/6th grade games for them (at the scrimmages they held at BL, didn't go to any of their regular season games in this age group), including one who was about 6'2", but came nowhere close to 280, he was about 230 or so. So that size surprises me.

He did play some varsity. I think he only played 16 minutes all season, but he got 15 tackles and a fumble recovery in that time.

That's pretty good. That is an average of almost a tackle every play he was in the game.

He's going into his sophomore year.

I think I know a little about the transfer process. Will he be eligible next year? Has he officially enrolled at Betsy layne?
#28
As with all football player, IMO the key with this kid is quickness. If he is quick for his size, he can do a lot of damage. Regardless, (I don't know anything about this but wish the best for Betsy Layne) a kid that size is good for stuffing the run and maybe being used as a blocker. Good size for the coaches to work with.

6'5" is a bit of a stretch.
