I wish Jenkins the very best and hope they represent the 14th well. Those are some tough opponents they're gonna face, especially Walton-Verona out of the 8th Region, even tho they haven't won the 8th Region All A yet I do believe they will come out on top of the 8th Region All A.

Good Luck To All

how far will the Cavs go? Wo will win the All A? How good is Danville?

They should get past Danville but I don't see them getting by Region 10 or Region 8. Danville is 8-7 lost to a 5-10 East Jessamine Team and a 6-11 Rockcastle County Team. I'm gonna say either Nicholas or Brossart will come out of the 10th (Nicholas 10-0, Brossart 9-2) going into the first round of the 10th Region All "A" and they played each other. Don't have a score for them tho. Walton-Verona will likely come out of the 8th Region (14-4). They should at least get 1 win at Skyview Park, maybe 2

I was wrong. Gallatin County came out of the 8th Region. All that's left is Regions 1, 2, 3, 9, 10
#7
Walton-Verona was very surprisingly upset by Owen County in the semifinals. I thought Walton-Verona would easily win the region and be one of the favorites at state, but I guess I was wrong.

Jenkins should handle Danville and Nicholas..Gallatin ?? depends on which Gallatin team shows up. I have seen them all play, other than Jenkins. So it's hard to say for sure. Watch the short game. Push the bases. I too was surprise concerning walton.. blue have your seen Owen play this year? They did have a tall lefty pitcher. (I think she was lefty) from last year.

No I haven't seen Owen play but I heard they have a good pitcher named Katelyn Sutherland. She may be the tall lefty you're talking about.

Pikeville has made it to the semifinals, where they are playing Heath, who defeated Holy Cross. Don't know who is in the other semifinal game. After 2 full innings, Pikeville is down 5-0 to Heath, who is currently #19 in the state.
#25
I don't think PIkeville will get by Heath but what a great run for a mountain team. It's great for east Ky this may turn some heads . There pitching held them back , the eastern teams can come up with hitters and fielders but the pitching doesn't match up with the better teams . Both the bears and the Cavs number 1s got rocked pretty good , but the bears D and better hitters carried them further , but on a high note there number 2s looked pretty good and got some good experience this weekend while they are still young.

Turn some heads? Maybe in EKY, but it doesn't make a dent with the rest of the state's coaches.

Pikeville went 2-2. Wouldn't call that a "great run."

It got blasted in both games it lost and neither of its wins will resonate with the coaches who vote in the top 25. Glasgow has lost 5-of-8, while Gallatin County has three losses to UNRANKED teams in its last 13 games.

Had Pikeville beaten Green or Livingston Central, that would have turned some heads.

As far as Jenkins, this weekend proved what the rest of the state has been saying all along: It's laughable that you think Jenkins even deserves to be a part of the "others receiving votes" part of the top 25, let alone be ranked.

Read the post again CK . I said that pikeville had a good run for a eastern ky team , 2/2 being probly the best record for a mountain team and the pitching must get better in the east to compete with those teams there defense is not bad and there hitting wasnt bad .read some of my earlier post and you will see I've not said anything about ranking Phs or the Cavs, quite the opposite . They are good in the regions there from as all the teams are and better compition will make them better. Argue with some one else.
#30
Whose heads are turning?

People in EKY already knew Pikeville and Jenkins were among the better EKY teams ... so EKY heads would NOT turn.

And a 2-2 showing in a tournament with only three ranked teams (and none in the top 5) isn't going to turn heads among the big boys.

As far as "They are good in the regions there from as all the teams are" ... um, no.

Hancock hasn't made waves in the 3rd Region Tournament in a long time. Richmond Model hasn't won an 11th Region Tournament game since 2007. Louisville Collegiate hasn't won a region tournament game since before 2002 (and maybe longer than that). Middlesboro has a losing record (7-10) against 13th Region teams this season. Raceland is barely over .500 (6-4) against 16th Region teams this season.

Nicholas County has a good record, but does it have ANY quality wins? Plus, it only has two region tournament wins in the last 14 years (lost in semifinals handily both times).

Now teams like Green County, Heath and Livingston Central could very well win their regions and win games in the state tournament.

Glasgow's OK, but it's not getting to State out of a region with Allen County-Scottsville and Greenwood.

Likewise, Livingston Central is unbeaten in its region, but part of that may be because it hasn't played Christian County, Henderson County, Madisonville-North Hopkins or Hopkins County Central yet. ... Not sure the last time LC beat any of those four in the region tournament.

But let's not act like every team at All 'A' State is a contender for the real region championship. Maybe 50 percent at best.
