Best Quarterbacks Of All Time In Eky
#1
wow what can you say about the past years about quarterbacks?

well i would have to say that Durell Olinger would definately be #1
mainly because i saw him play and personaly is #1 to me

What do you think ?:theman:

You haven't seen enough football if you think Olinger is the best all-time QB from EKY. He was maybe the 2nd best one this season alone behind Holbrook.

Olinger is a very good, maybe even great QB, but he was helped greatly by a weak schedule. He played subpar against good competition. He was never able to perform against good competition.
#3
compton for sf was a good qb
#4
Jason Michaels of Lawrence County was a great QB. He went on to lead Western Kentucky to a DII or DIAA (forget which one) National Championship.
#5
justin haddix-breathitt co-kill you with the pass or run. started for wku as a fresh. best of all time though would be a guy named tim.
#6

Tim Couch

He's the obvious answer, but other than Tim who have been the best all-time EKY QBs?
#8
Haddix was pretty good.
#9
1. Tim Couch - Leslie County
2. Justin Haddix - Breathitt County
3. Kyle Moore - Breathitt County
4. Jason Micheals - Lawrence County
5. Matt Brahnam - Pikeville
6. Joey Willis - Prestonsburg
7. Chas Harmon - Paintsville
8. Steven Sizemore - Hazard
9. Al Holland Jr. - Perry Central
10. Jacob Hundley - Breathitt County

Those are just the BEST I have SEEN play.

It was Division 1 AA. Micheals had an AWESOME year that year, i believe it was the 2003-04 season.

PRESLEY MARSHALL-FLEMMING CO.- PROB THE BEST ATHELETE IVE SEEN ALL AROUND
#12
tim couch- leslie county (to young to really know about his HS career)
daunte wright- Lawrence county ( currently playing for Miami, OH)
#13
Wright was an insane athlete. But from I remeber wasn't a real prolific passer although I'm sure he was pretty good at it. He plays in the secondary at Miami (OH) I'm pretty sure.

Jordan Fritz was the QB at Fleming and he was the real deal as far as I saw. Presley Marshall was an outstanding WR and I was saddened to hear that he had to quit due to health reasons.
#17
TIM COUCH best QB in ky by far
#18
Jerry Gilley from hazard
#19
Great list PC98, I would only change (flip-flop) 4, and 5, Matt Branham was very underated!
#20
Tim Couch is the best ever, Sean Pennington of Clay led the state for a long time in yardage. Still in top 20.

I so sorry to disagree with you buddy but the players dont make the schedule they just play it , and i happened to go and see the state tournaments and durell olinger would have had a field day with a the space to throw so i would have to say that he is a great qb maybe one of the best :coach:

Obviously he wasn't able to find that same space in the 1st round of the playoffs. The exact same reason that hurt the stock of Fidler at Henderson County. Fidler was arguably the #1 QB in the state, and a lock for #2 before their early exit. The same poor playoff recognition that hurt Olinger. If he had been able to make a solid playoff run and had performed at the same level against good competition as he did against most teams, he could have went as high as the #2 QB in the state.
