Per Jody Demling...
Owen County High School two-sport star Sawyer Williams is headed to play basketball at Morehead State University as a preferred walk-on.
The 6-foot-8 Williams, who averaged a double-double as a senior, said he told the Morehead coaching staff last month that he was headed that way.
âI just felt like it was a really good place for me,â Williams said. âI really liked it and liked the coaches and they have agriculture that I want to study.â
He had also heard from Lincoln-Memorial and some other smaller schools.
Williams was also a standout football player at Owen County.
Congrats to Sawyer!
