Paintsville wins for the 22nd time of the season and sets up a all "Johnson County" final taking on Magoffin County for the 4th time of the year.

Magoffin County (27-4) defeated Shelby Valley for the second time 49-46 to set up the finals of the 15th...

Pikeville runners-up of the 59th district closes out their season (14-18) while Shelby Valley ends up (24-4).

Looking forward to the finals. Who wins ?

Magoffin has it's own county now. They have their own county seat and everything, it's really great!

LOL!!!!!!! I thought the same thing, but I think what the poster was referring to was Paintsville in the girls final, and Johnson Central in the boys. One of those "Man I wish I had double-checked my wording" posts. LOL

About the game, Pikeville let this one slip away. Had cut into the lead and had it to a 3 point margin with about 2 minutes left, but couldn't close the gap. Story of the game: Turnovers and lack of rebounding (except for Molly Blackburn for Pikeville, girl had a heck of a game on the boards, IMO).

I think this is the fourth game they have let slip away against Paintsville this year.

First two games weren't really even close from halftime on. The last two, have been very close. In this particular game, absolutely had a chance to go up on Paintsville due to foul trouble on the Tigers, but didn't take advantage of it. A couple of costly turnovers due to sloppy passes, and 2 REALLY ill-advised shots that were rushed. Make of it what you will, but this one was the most winnable of the four, IMO.

I would have to disagree. Pikeville led by about 10 or 12 points at Paintsville.
