Is that basically what the brackets will look like?

Rowan should win, but I believe Farview has the best player in the region.

I disagree. He may be the best scorer on Fairview. Anyone can score 23 a game when you shot 80% of the teams shots. Terry doesn't act like a team leader either. He is not a defensive stopper either.
He is a great player, but by far he is not the best player in the region.

If he isn't the best, who is? He is not a great player. He is a good player. We tend to overuse the term "great" There are no "great" players in Kentucky this year. Still, Terry is clearly the best player in the 16th Region with probably Skaggs and Wing being second and third.

What about Gregg with Ashland. Isn't he one of the leading scorers in the state?
02-27-2012, 07:30 PM
Rowan County has the TWO best players in the sixteenth region and Egan isn't far behind.
Townsend and Wing are both ALL State as well as Mr Basketball candidates.
I haven't heard Terry, Skaggs, or Greggs name thrown out there? Have you?

If what you say is true, Rowan County should waltz through the regional tournament. If RC wins the state tournament, which they won't even with another easy draw, one of their players could be a candidate for Mr. Basketball. That would be nice.

I think the waltz is to slow, I think they will do the cha-cha in the 16th. Another easy draw...LOL!!!!! RC was one judgement call away from a state title....And no Im not talking about the three that was judged a two (re-play shows a clear 3), but the block call (and 1) that could have been called a charge......CHA-CHA!!!!

can't agree more with other views. Because you shoot the ball all the time on your team doesn't necessarily mean your a top player in the region or state. Terry has a ways to go in my humble opinion. Rowan County is the better team in this game.

Gregg, terry, wing, townsend, skaggs there all great players on there respective teams. i don't see any argument about it. An nobody, absolutely nobody is going to walk, waltz or any other kind of dancing through this region. several of these teams are fairly even an have played close throughout the season.
I think its wide open considering the one everyone on here is talking about walking through this regional Roman co Ashland beat just weeks ago by 15pts, then an unlikely Russell team beats Ashland in last game of season. looks like a wide open field.

But Ashland won't have 2 refs in their back pocket now. Don't deny it. It is well known around the region, you have to play against at least 7 when you play in kitten land.

I have personally seen 6 games in the Ashland Litter Box. And in all of them Ashland has been in the bonus with only 1 or 2 fouls on them. I heard the same comments from scouts of other teams. It is not one persons opinion.
Nothing to get over, just bracing you for a reality check when you don't play at home.
But you are right, you win some and loose some. You just don't like to see the kids cheated.

Sounds like a load of Bullshit to me. If you an these scouts are so sure of cheating then seems like someone should report that. :lame:

Whether true or not, the general consensus of opinion among those who follow basketball is that Ashland gets homecooking. There is one official in particular that knowledgeable coaches know to "blackball" from calling their games with Ashland.
He didn't referee either Ashland-Rowan County game this season because RC knew to "omit" him. He did referee the Ashland-Woodford County game and most independent observers, including some Ashlanders, felt he contributed greatly to Ashland's narrow win. He also refereed the district game a couple of years ago when Ashland, though trailing the entire game, shot 39 foul shots to Rose Hill's 10. Ashland came from behind to win that game at the foul line. A review of the tape of the game clearly indicated who called the fouls and when. There are numerous other examples through the years but these indicate why that particular referee is well known.
Fortunately, 16th Region officials don't referee the regional tournament.
Report it? Why? KHSAA has its pecking order.

Hmmm...... so now that the "TRUTH" has been spoken guess that solves it? Give me a break that happens everywhere an while they seem obvious to the people in the stands.
Referees make bad calls.... That's the nature of the beast. An Im not any happier than any one else when it happens to us, although its pretty amusing to me that a bunch of grown men are on an internet message board Crying about how they got cheated by The mighty Ashland Tomcats!! nicker: You get beat you get beat... Everybody questions almost every call in a basketball game, they are interpreted spur of the moment an don't always make the right call. That's how the ball bounces can't win'em all. :1:
Oh wait that is unless your playing at Ashland! :lame: geez that's why we lost to Rowan co. Fleming co. Tug valley, Clark co. An a couple others all at Ashland? Crazy I know
somebody must've forgot to pass that envelope before those games? His head will role! :lmao:

No need to get defensive. Just ask those who are actually a part your basketball program if they aren't "pleased" when one certain referee comes onto the floor to call an Ashland home game. My guess is that you are not particularly close to the program or you would know the facts. or, if you do have close ties to the program, you may well be the only one not so informed.
You may rest assured that most all other area coaches have been aware of it for years. If you ever have a hall of fame over there, this guy will be a charter member.
