I like Buckhorn, but I don't think they have enough to over come this Perry Central Team.

Benchwarmer keeps talking about tranfers. I think he is only looking for a place to transfer to so he can get off the bench. Ever consider Piarist. Peace be among us. Brother Cecil.

My guess is Benchwarmers will pick:
Transfer Central
vs
Tri-County Bulldogs
for the district championship game..

Perry Central has been my pick to win the 14th region all season, even before Jaysean Paige showed up into the coal mining country. But as you can see in the *Sweet 16 Contest* I picked Knott Central to win the region.
There are many reasons to pick Perry Central to win not only this game but to win the 14th region... (Braxton Beverly, Jaysean Paige, Coach Hatcher, great role players)...
So when did I change my mind about Perry winning the region? The day of the 54th district draw. The 54th district draw has been the BIGGEST part of the 14th region tournament since 2004. I believe that there are 3 teams in this district that has a "chance" at winning the region...
Ever since the draw I have had a funny feeling about this match-up...
Since I have nothing to lose...
So let me be the first in this thread.....
Buckhorn - 64
Perry Central - 58

The day of the draw I thought the same thing. It is very interesting matchup. PCC has to beat Buckhorn to even make it to region, on the other Breathitt has to beat Riverside and Knott has to beat Jenkins. It is very possible that the Horn does send the Commodores home early but I just cant see it happening and the the bold on your post is why PC will win this game and the 14th region.

I'm glad that PCC is a shoe in for the sweet 16. With the talent they have they should crown them state champions. Since PCC people they are the only team with a chance winning the 14th region. I heard that a player from California is transfering to PCC next year if Paige dont bring the state title to PCC. The player is already rule ineligble in California, but KHSAA has already rule him eligble for Hatcher

The stupidity on here just amazes me.

Would love to see Buckhorn win, but dont think its possible !!

I think Buckhorn has a great team but they do not matchup well with PCC. The Day kid is the only size they have, don't think they can rebound with PCC. The trademark tough halfcourt defense of Hatcher would give anyone trouble and the horn is no different. The only way I can see Buckhorn winning is playing a zone packed in so tight, like a can of sardines, and hoping PCC can't throw one in the ocean. The only problem is people have been trying this all year and they still win even when they are shooting poorly. I see alot of Bulldog faithful on here hoping like hell the horn can pull it out.

How does this get on a pcc/buckhorn thread. U ppl just need to get over it. Pcc is the best team but the best tean doesnt always win. Thats why they play the game. No one has crowned anyone including kcc, hhs or buckhorn for that matter. If buckhorn beats pcc then they are better on that nite. This will not be the only region in the state with upsets. Thats what makes it so fun. Im sure pcc is well aware of the fact that if they dont play well they could easily go home as quick as anyone else in this region can. About the transfer from cali, he should b fun to watch.Op

A couple of things went into that lol
#1 - Holland was on the way out and didn't care.
#2 - The Horn shot about 80%

The question for me is not Can Buckhorn win this game, it is will they. I think Buckhorn has a team that not only can compete with them but win this game. For Buckhorn to win it is obvious someone other than Matt has to step up but that has happened all season long. However it doesn't have to be one player to do so. If Easterling and Couch steps up and scores around 15-20 combined they'll be fine. Blank needs to continue to run the point as he does and the twins need to continue to rebound and score when the opportunity is there. Whitaker and Cooper can also give them big minutes off the bench with their defense and any points there is a plus. This is something we've seen all season long with this team except on a couple of occasions that cost them the game. The real key to winning this game for Buckhorn is too not get too hyped. PCC is the one team this team has not beaten and they want it badly. If they can keep their emotions controlled they can come out with the win. If not, it was a great season and good luck to the Commodores.

PCC better not look over Buckhorn, Coach Noble will have his team ready.
IMO though PCC will be to much.
