Anyone know if any of the Prestonsburg kids signed to play college football?? I know Garner, Jamerson and Crisp were pre-season D1 prospects.

Cook, Collins, Jamerson, & Garner are all undecided still. Not sure on Crisp yet.

I am from Louisville and don't know anyone in Prestonsburg so hoping someone who checks this thread might know answer. I like to follow recruiting in the state and especially like to watch what happens at D-1 level. I remember your QB Burchett walking on at UK then transferring to WVU last fall where I hear he was 3rd string. But my cousin has a kid at Centre College who says he transferred there this semester. Anyone know the story why he left WVU? And why Centre?

^^ I actually had not heard he left WVU. Not saying he didnt, but just not heard yet. I know his senior year Centre was after him hot & heavy, so it could be true. The kid just wants to be some where that someone will give him a chance. He has all the talent in the world & the smarts to go along with it. Bottom line he just wants to play. I wish him the best where ever he ends up.

He is now at Centre. With Michael, it was all bout just simply being given the opportunity to compete. It was never gonna happen at UK, in spite of the fact that he outperformed Newton in most all measureables. He was told it would happen at WVU, but after the Orange Bowl, I think he saw that it was never gonna happen there either. At some point, no matter how badly it sucks that you won't even be allowed to compete for playing time or a spot on the depth chart, you just have to consider if you may be better off at a smaller school just so you can play the game you love. I think that is the decision Michael made. He will excel at Centre both athletically and academically.
Best of luck to the young man, and even though IMO he got shafted, he did get to spend a year at UK wearing the Blue and White, and spend a year at WVU, where he was on the sidelines for the Bowl game. How many of US would kill for that experience?

He should get a nice bowl ring as well shouldn't he?

Good luck Michael. Would love to catch a game of his. The kid is just a competitor.

Can't blame kids for wanting to play. Playing time at the D-1 level seems to be nearly impossible even for really good athletes. My cousin says he understands that it is going to be a tough competition even at Centre for the QB starting spot -- they apparently have 3 or 4 top notch QBs.

Always wish the best for a great football program such as Prestonsburg. Hope all the aforementioned kids get the opportunities they seek and make the most of them. Good luck young men in all your future endeavors and Good luck to Micheal. It shows how much you love the sport by your determination to continue playing. Many young men give up when they get their backs against the wall. Hats off to you for continuing your football career and most importantly your education!!!
