Perry led by 10 after the first quarter. and trailed by 4 at the half. and lost by 9

Even though Perry lost, it shows you they can still run with the Big Dogs.

Congrats Manual, and great job to the Lady Dores for reppin' the Mountains very well!
#7
Randy left his lucky rabbit's foot in the locker room.
Simply didn't have any luck.

Good job perry. From what I was told, perry was never in the bonus the second half but manual was in the double bonus. Is that true?
#9
Sounds like the PCC All-Stars played pretty good.

Doesn't matter.

Congrats to Manual, and this should show the doubters that Perry CAN make a run for the title.

Manual defeats Perry County 70-61 in girls' LIT semifinal

Written by the Courier-Journal

April Wilson posted 29 points and five steals to lead the Manual High School girls’ basketball team to a 70-61 victory over Perry County Central in Saturday morning’s semifinals of the Republic Bank/Coca-Cola Louisville Invitational Tournament at Bellarmine University’s Knights Hall.

Wilson, a Purdue signee, hit 9 of 14 shots and 9 of 10 free throws and scored 24 of her points in the first half. Kara Wright and LeAsia Wright both scored 16 points for Manual (20-2), No. 1 in The Courier-Journal’s Litkenhous Ratings.

Manual will face the Marion County-Mercy winner in tonight’s 8 o’clock championship game.

Sophomore Kayla Rankin had 17 points and six rebounds to lead No. 4 Perry County Central (19-2), which led 24-12 early in the second quarter before Manual rallied for a 38-34 halftime lead.

Katelyn Smith added 16 points, and Kendall Noble pitched in 11 points, 10 assists, six rebounds, three blocks and three steals

Manual-Perry County: Wilson, who has signed with Purdue, scored all 12 of Manual’s points in the first quarter, and by halftime she had hit 7 of 10 shots, including 2 of 4 from 3-point range, and all eight of her free throws. Her final stats showed she was 9 of 14 from the field and 9 for 10 at the foul line, with two assists, five steals and four turnovers.

Manual got 16 points apiece from LeAsia Wright and Kara Wright (no relation), plus seven rebounds from Kayla Styles. LeAsia Wright hit two 3-point tries in the fourth quarter after Perry County Central (19-2) had closed within 54-53 on a basket by point guard Whitney Back. That was Back’s only goal after scoring 12 of her 14 points in the first quarter.

“Those threes were huge,” Pendleton said. “LeAsia didn’t have a big game until the fourth quarter. She got it done in the end.”

Sophomore center Kayla Rankin had 17 points and six rebounds for the Lady Commodores, including 12 points in the second half. Katelyn Smith added 16 points. Usually high-scoring Kendall Noble took only five shots and scored 11, but she had 10 assists, three blocks and three steals.

“Noble is too unselfish at times,” Perry Central coach Randy Napier said. “We had to use a lot of our legs (Friday) night (in a 78-77 win over Sacred Heart). Manual had an easier game then. Down the stretch they wore us down. Manual can go deep on the bench, and that was a big factor.’’

Sounds like a closer game than the final score indicates. I still think Perry Central can beat them when it really counts---in March.
#18
Nice game for PCC. Hope to see another match-up. Hopefully, PCC will come out on top next time.
#19
I heard the 14th Region was matched up with the 7th Region in this years girls' sweet 16.
If Perry and Manual win their regions they'll meet 1st Round.
#20
Yep, should be a good one in Bowling Green. Marion will coast to the finals, while all the other top teams will battle it out in the top bracket. Should be fun to watch. Good luck to all the teams in their tourney's.
#21
The thing is....
not everyone even coasts through their Region lol

There will be some upsets.
I'm not saying Manual or Marion will get upset.

But you can't guarantee anything.
