Question: How many coaches start and play four of their Varsity starters in 75% of the JV games? Curious for feedback.

Most coaches do not play their varsity starters in a jv game

Some of the smaller schools. They have too!

Yes, agree if you do not have the numbers but this isn't the case.

As long as you have the numbers i dont know any coach who would play there varsity starters on jv. Wouldnt make sense to play them on jv.

I can see this be frowned upon if they are upperclassman...soph, jr, etc. but if it is a freshman player or middle school players who want to stay with the team they will be playing with for years to come and still have alot to learn about the game then I don't see it to be a problem. They could lose a game against older players but win against their peers.

Depends on the kid but I wouldnt play V starters in a JV game if I were a coach. Even at a small school. JV is about learning and getting better not about winning. However, I have heard of juniors playing JV but again they didn't start V. No senior should ever play JV IMO.

In theory that would be true except the Varisty isn't winning the JV games and are exhausted for the Varisty games and lose by bigger margins.

Well that doesn't make any sense to me. I feel for ya

Check with KHSAA. Seems like there may be a rule that you cant start for both, but can play in both.
