Two University of Kentucky stars and Murray State's Isaiah Canaan are in the top 10 of CBSSports.com's NCAA Player of the Year watch this week.
Davis is No. 4 on the list behind Thomas Robinson, Doug McDermott and Jared Sullinger.
Kidd-Gilchrist ranks No. 7 and Canaan has moved up two spots to No. 8 this week.
4. Anthony Davis
Position: F
School: Kentucky
Class: Freshman
Ht: 6-10 Wt: 220
Comment: Davis has only averaged 7.5 points in the past two games -- wins against Alabama and Georgia. However, the long and versatile freshmanâs impact isnât measured by the points he puts on the board. He grabbed 20 rebounds in the past two games, blocked nine shots and changes the game on the defensive end. Last week: No. 3
7. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Position: F
School: Kentucky
Class: Freshman
Ht: 6-7 Wt: 232
Comment: Itâs difficult to put up eye-popping numbers on a team loaded with talent like the Wildcats, but MKG is still managing to impress just about every time out. He averaged 13.5 points and 8.5 boards in a pair of wins over Alabama and Georgia and has a motor that rivals just about anyone in the country. Last week: No. 6
8. Isaiah Canaan
Position: G
School: Murray State
Class: Junior
Ht: 6-0 Wt: 171
Comment: Heâs the leader, floor general and best player on the lone remaining D-1 team without a blemish. Canaan finished with 21 points, five boards and three assists in a win against SIU-Edwardsville. Last week: No. 10
