Manual was up 16 at halftime and overcame two key injuries to defeat St. Anthony (NY) 66-56 in the 7th Annual Braggin' Rights Classic in Cincinnati. St. Anthony is ranked #3 in New York and #85 nationally by MaxPreps.

Manual will play Miller Career Academy (MO) ranked #7 in Missouri on Thursday and Lake Ridge Academy (OH) on Friday.

in The Courier-Journal’s preseason poll
and ranked in the top 100 nationally —
blazed past St. Anthony’s, ranked No. 3 in
New York, 66-56 Wednesday in the
Braggin Rights Tournament in Cincinnati.

Miss Basketball candidate and Purdue
University signee April Wilson led the
Crimsons (12-0) with 26 points, six assists
and seven steals. Manual, which led 40-27
at halftime, held off a second-half rally by
the Friars (5-2).

Leasia Wright added 13 points for Manual.
The Crimsons, state runners-up last year
to Rockcastle County, will face Miller
Academy (Mo.) tonight at 6 as pool play
continues.

Symone Kelly led the Friars with 17 points.
