Boone County had one last chance to send the game to a third overtime, but its running jumper rimmed out as time expired, giving Southern (10-2) a 78-76 double overtime victory. Boone County (10-2) had a chance to win at the end of regulation and again at the end of the first overtime, but was unable to knock down either shot.
The thriller featured 15 3-pointers, 10 for the Rebels.
Zane McQueary scored 28 for the Rebels . The action was back and forth throughout, with the largest lead of eight points belonging to Boone County late in the third quarter.
