Highlands senior quarterback Patrick Towles (Kentucky commit) was named an honorable mention quarterback on the Sports Illustrated All-America list that was announced Monday. Towles, who was named Mr. Football in Kentucky last week, threw for 3,820 yards, 42 touchdowns and rushed for 589 yards and 15 touchdowns in leading the Bluebirds to the Class 4A state title.

Taft senior defensive end Adolphus Washington (Ohio State commit) was named to Sports Illustrated’s High School All-America second-team on Monday. Washington, 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds, had 90 tackles and 23.5 sacks in the regular season. Washington, the Division III state co-defensive player of the year, had 25 sacks overall. He was also named the Southwest District Division III defensive player of the year.

St. Xavier senior center Brandyn Cook (Pittsburgh commit) made the honorable mention offensive linemen list. He was Division I special mention all-state and first-team all-district
