Is that #22 from this year's team getting any offers? I thought he was the best DE I saw all year when we played them in the playoffs. Even when we were beating them badly, he didn't give up and was still making plays. I really like his game and he could be a big pickup for some college team

From what I hear he really isn't getting many looks to play college football. I heard he got offered a walk on position at a school (a 1-AA school I think not really sure on this one). This is a shame he isn't getting much attention. I'm like you, I think he could be special at the next level if given the chance and be an impact player. I know he is also getting looks to play college basketball. Not really sure which sport the young man wants or desires to pursue. But I completely agree, the kid has the talent and the heart to play and succeed at the next level. Hopefully he will get a chance to do so.

Sounds like he is one heck of an athelete. I have never seen him play anything else, but it would be a shame if his career didn't continue past this year

He is an extremely good athelet! There are several good athletes at Owen County that could play at the next level (mostly NAIA or Division 3 NCAA with 1 or 2 that could go higher) if given the chance. The biggest thing going against these kids is the name across the front of their jersey. Unfortunately no one seems to respect OC or thinks Owen County can produce good football players that can hold their at the next level.

I know what you mean. Ive been coaching for several years at smaller schools before coming to Holy Cross. I always try to get my kids out to schools that I know they can play at, but usually D3 colleges are the only ones who will offer anything to them. I know they are much better than D3, but its tough to get schools to commit money to kids that aren't from high schools with alot of tradition. It has been much easier to get kids noticed this year, since we won state. I think you had a couple kids who might be able to compete at the small college level, but #22 can go to a big college and he just needs help from his coaches getting tape on his out to the universities, if he even wants to play college football. If you know him, I can give you some suggestions that has helped me out with kids in the past. Good Luck

I agree. #22, Sawyer Williams is an outstanding football player. It has all of Owen County dumbfounded as to why he is not getting any more looks than he is.

Tell Sawyer to send game films to schools. Schools miss out on good players because they don't know they're out there.
I had a friend that went to Cincinnati Hughes which is a high school right across the street from UC. Really good football with no offers. He took a film of his best game over to UC's football office. A week later he got an offer.

I believe Coach Fowler has sent game film to every school imaginable. He just isn't getting the interest.
