After all he had done in his seven years for the Los Angeles Lakers, forward Lamar Odom was so hurt by being included in a three-team trade for Chris Paul that was vetoed by the league, that he requested a trade Friday, according to a Lakers team source.
His request was granted late Saturday night when the Lakers sent Odom to the Dallas Mavericks for an $8.9 million trade exception, as well as Dallas' 2012 first-round pick and possibly additional draft considerations, according to ESPN.com's Marc Stein.

No, the Heat already turned down a deal in the Lakers attempt to unload Kobe for someone who could help the Lakers more. The Heat said they would NOT get rid of Joel Anthony....

I can't understand this trade at all. I know that Odom and the Lakers didn't exactly have a perfect relationship but this is rediculous.

Khloe is NOT going to like this at all

the only thing she can do about it is divorce Lamar, and her family history shows that it's likely.

They're going all in for Dwight. They basically just gave him away. Kobe said he don't like Lamar leaving. Me either.
Lakers have to get rid of Odom's contact to make room for Dwight.

^That is the key to it all. They got 3 draft picks and dumped $9 million in salary.

I hate the trade.
IMO you NEED Lamar for the Dwight trade to work.
It's nice to free up salary....
but the Magic are going to ask for Bynum and Pau and it won't work without Lamar.
I understand he got butt-hurt....
but is that really good-enough reason to ship him off to the reigning NBA Champions in the same freaking conference FOR A DRAFT PICK?!

This is retarded! Pretty much giving your biggest competition a great player and for what in return? Hardly a thing.
lol, you're drunk.

Regardless though, I hope the Lakers fail, ESPECIALLY now. I don't like anyone on the team now that Odom's gone. Used to like Derek Fisher until the lockout ridiculousness...

Yeah - I don't think it's a very good idea to give a solid role player up to the Mavs..
L.A. better hope they get Howard for sure now..

Lamar may be an all-star if he wasn't on teams with superstars already.
When he played for the Clips he was getting all-star votes and he has only gotten better.
The man can play D on pretty much every position....
he can score...
board...
pass...
shoot...
dribble...
and keeps candy stocked in his locker
