Yeah, this win is huge for the Pirates !!! Morgan County was 10-1 and they were so much bigger than Belfry. Belfry had a 11 point lead with 6 minutes to go, but held on for the win.

FYI......The little Pirates (i.e. Belfry Middle School) came away with a hardfought win against Pikeville Middle School tonight. Probably the first quality win for this young squad.

Yeah, I think so. They have beaten Dorton, Johnson Central, and I heard they played Virgie as good as anyone has.

The Macanellen kid can flat out play, Matt Branham's lil' brother can shoot the lights out of the gym when hot, and they play hard. I think they are a real good middle school team.

Sounds good...I say lil' Branham will be a helluva football player. It looks like Bart, Todd May and the staff are getting some good young talent in the program. Hopefully they will get it turned around.

I think that the refs were not quited up to par in that game. There was a few "make up calls" for missed ones last night. I sure that Aaron Warren and Zack Bowman have backaches this morning from carrying #30 & #40 on their backs all night.

As anyone who has read any of my posts know, I don't play the "homie" game. I give credit where credit is due and call it like I see it. Belfry played sluggish at times and shouldn't have let them come back in the 4th. The turnovers were horrible. Neither team controlled any part of the game.

I think that Belfry had the speed and Morgan the size/strength.

It should be a good rematch against Belfry & LCC Friday night. Once again Coach Casey and Coach Justice on the same court, just different benches.

It wasn't that Morgan Co. was very good, Belfry wasn't hitting anything and the Morgan got their big guys in the game late. Perry Co. would knock off Morgan Co. easily and I believe Belfry will take Perry Co. next time as well.
