Looks pretty good.
I still think Bell is better than Belfry and would have beaten Central had Wales went out in that game like he did this one, but the rest is spot on.
Central is obviously number 1, Bell and Belfry in a tie for second and the rest of the state is a little farther on back.

Got to score at least 2 points to win any game.... Bell didn't prove they could do so.

Putting Garrard ahead of Breathitt is a joke.

I agree with EKU. Belfry played they hand they were dealt. Had a chance to win this thing and lost the lead. Had a chance to win at the end and came up short. Willams throws the ball out of bounds instead of being sacked and it could have ended differently.
Central is not Ace Wales. They are a great team and they won today because they are a great team. Had he played, yes it may have ended in a bigger win for Central or the story could have been the same. We will never know. What we know is Belfry had them on the ropes and couldn't get the KO.
We can play the if's and's and but's game all day long, but fact is fact. Belfry made Central earn today's win.
Bell was blanked. Shutout. Wales may have scored the points but it was the Central D that blanked them. So yes Belfry is #2 in 3A and the showed that today.

It's no Joke. I would have loved to have seen Garrard play Central, no offense to Belfry, just for the pure speed on the field that would have occurred.
Russell had top 10 talent but bottom 10 attitude.

I can agree with that.
It was at Central to though....
I would have loved to seen Bell and Belfry play this year.

This is correct bell did not score on central and garrard played belfry better than brethitt so without playing each other you could say without a doubt CENTRAL,BELFRY,BELL,GARRARD,BRETHITT enough said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:redboxer:

Central fans said they had 2 or 3 running backs that was as good or better than that of Davenport from Bell(Bells fans said Davenport was as good as Wales)so with that in mind,Central should have still beat Belfry by 3-4 tds like almost everyone thought except most Belfry fans,Bell didnt score on Central so no Bell is still not under 2, and no there no better than Belfry....irateShoirateShoirateSho

Agree, sort of. I would put Garrard ahead of Bell. I believe that Garrard would have given Central fits. Garrard is impressive and their speed on offense would have matched up better against Central's d than Belfry's offense. JMHO. Garrard would have handled Breathitt the same as Belfry did.

I would have loved to seen Bell play Central minus Wales. Hate to see anyone get hurt but he was the offense. Bell's turnovers kept them off the scoreboard. 2 of which were unforced and the 1st was on the 2nd series with them 1st and goal inside the 8 yard line and the game scoreless. To say Garrard is better than Bell is a Joke. Belfry has an somewhat of an argument.
The total stats by Belfry against Central are very, very similar as the Bell vs. Central game. With no Wales in the Belfry game that would seem that Bell is better defensively than Belfry and about even on offense with Belfry. Belfry just protected the football better, until late in the game when they were forced to pass b/c they were down.
Congrats to Coach Haywood and the Pirates! A class act coach and a great football program!!!! They had the correct game-plan but just came up a little short.

Belfry's turnover kept them from winning the game. Wales is a great back, but not all the weapons Central has. Have you seen Garrard play? They were for real and had speed comparable to Central. Bell could not control Centrals speed and I doubt they could of controlled Garrard's. JMHO.. Garrard would have had a better chance against Central than any above IMO. their offence was better balanced than either Bell or Belfry and their QB was very accurate and the recievers could catch almost everything throwed at them. To say Bell's defense is better than Belfry's is a joke. Belfry held central to 15 points and Bell could not stop them. The reason Wales went out is because he was hit and hit hard.

No the score wouldn't have been different if Wales had played he would have still had to get out of the backfield to do his thing and Belfry's D
was not going to let that happen.

Belfry suffered a natural let down after playing Breathitt in
the regional finals. Everyone and their mother knew the
winner of that game was going to Bowling Green. And
since Breathitt could easily have beaten Belfry, it's
hard to make a case that Garrard was better than either.

You're kidding yourself if you think it wouldn't have made a difference.
They may not have beaten you as decisively as the beat Bell
( I said all season I didn't think Bell was any better than Breathitt
or Belfry) but with Wales, it wouldn't have been as close.
A realistic final top 5 is
1. Central
2-3 flip a coin Bell, Belfry, Breathitt
5.Ft Campbell

That's pretty funny considering Belfry was EXTREMELY lucky
to get out of Jackson with a win. BC doesn't turn it over and
it's BC in BG not the Buccos.

No, that is funny. Breathitt was pretty lucky they wasn't beat worse than what they were. Ifs and butts.. same ole same ole..:thatsfunn You all still crying over turnovers. Are they not part of the game. Be the same as me saying had Belfry not had a turnover they would be state champs.(sarcasm) But Most Belfry fans won't do that because we can admit the better team won unlike fans with the blue tinted glasses. :eyeroll:

Sorry I haven't been able to get up with him. Can't catch him on the phone.
I usually see him every other week or so in town, and I WILL keep trying to
pay up. He seems to be reclusive right now. Maybe that loss hurt him
too much, or maybe he's been celebrating the win over UT too
hard.

The rationale on this thread is so funny. FWIW, I think EKU is probably dead on.
But some of you are :hilarious:!
Breathitt lost to Belfry. Garrard lost to Belfry. The difference was that Garrard actually had one play for a chance to be in the lead (2 pt try) very late in the game and maybe win. They didn't make it.
Garrard has as much argument as anyone to be in the mix for the 3rd place spot with Bell (who, anyway you slice it didn't score on Central) and Breathitt.
Congrats to all on very good seasons.

Putting Garrard Co. in front of Breathitt is dead on. Garrard County WOULD have beaten Breathitt if they had played. I watched them both play, saw how they played against the Pirates and would honestly have put my money on Garrard. Sorry, but that's just how it is!
