Lots of talk about this game in other threads...so let's put it up for debate. What would happen in a game between the two?
Honestly I can't believe this is even a debate. I don't think Highlands would put a running clock on Bowling Green, but I think it would be a 3 - 4 touchdown victory for Highlands.

Do you guys ever stop? Stupid is an understatement.

^ an understatement for what? BG football thinking they can keep up with Highlands?

I don't think there's anything more I can say that I haven't already said. I think many others might feel the same.

It's a waste of time good time.

Im going to enjoy when Highlands gets knocked off their high horse once and for all...this year in particular from what ive seen id have to say bowling green by a touchdown. If there was a statement to be made, Bowling Green sure made it.

^ I expected this to happen if BG didn't have to play a team like Highlands...

All hail mighty highlands and their faithful posters....no one can compete...they are the greatest ever....would have put up 40 on Trinity, if scrimmages meant anything....can't wait to seewho they scrimmage next year!

Wideright, say no more until Highlands ventures into louisville and plays someone whos worth a damn, Highlands was in probably one of the weakest districts overall in 4A. BG beating St. X at St. X and Lex. Cath a Lex Cath proves alot to me as well as them slamming John Hardin...dont forget this BG team last year only lost to trinity 14-12 and this BG team this year is much better. ( and please before anyone swoops in no im not saying BG could hang with trinity this year. )

id like to see BG take a wack at some GCL teams. They talk like Louisville is God. It's not the area it's one team. Everyone is talking like its soooo easy to beat Elder, what a cupcake on the Highlands schedule. BG would be in the basement of the GCL. FACT

I am not going to get on you for saying you think BG could beat HHS (I think HHS wins by 7-10), But you sound really ignorant by trying to put down Highlands schedule. HHS year in and year out has one of the toughest schedules in the state. Yes, their district is bad now that they are in 4A, but they have no control over it. You beat John Hardin, so what, that does not impress me. I give you a lot of credit for playing St. X. Lets see if you continue to schedule them on their up years and when you are not as good as this year. Lets see you come play a Cincinnati team (I know, it would be a long trip). I think a BG/HHS game would be a good game, just think it is really stupid to try to say HHS plays weak schedules. I think both teams would love to schedule a yearly rival, but unfortunately, I think the distance of travel will probably prevent that.

Yeah, you're talking about the teams that played the new jersey generals to the Highlands Globetrotters in the past 4 State Championships.

Right on!! It's not like its our fault that our district blows! Plus, we schedule plenty of teams outside our schedule...including a couple of big Ohio teams every year. I don't see BG messing with the likes of Elder, Colerain, Withrow, Cincy St. X., which we have played in the last few years.
12-04-2011, 10:49 PM
Pendleton, holmes and Harrison must be the cream of the crop...
12-04-2011, 10:51 PM
It's not our fault the KHSAA puts them in our district. Honestly, with the way things are going, if we're going to be in 4A I'd rather it just be us, Cov Cath, Ashland, and JC in the same district. Might as well be that way because everybody else isn't even worthy enough to be called a cupcake. Had we had those three games open, you bet we would be playing some much better teams!!!
12-04-2011, 10:52 PM
And also, that district didn't stop us from winning state for the fifth consecutive year.
Something your team probably wouldn't know much about.

And dont say "you" im not a BG fan. Never even been to BG. Elder was horrible this year from what i heard and heck you wanna bring up cincy st. x. Didnt Lou. St.X beat them who got beat by BG?

What is BG's district? seriously i dont know. Is Hopkinsville still good? Christian Co. might be a little better than Holmes?
PC and HC are jokes but Holmes is not a terrible team

Elder was way down this year by THEIR standards. We did not play Cincy St. X, but they would have been a challenge, just like Louisville St. X (KY St. X beat OH St. X 7-3), but two years ago we played Cincy St. X and beat them 12 - 7. They beat both Trinity and St. X pretty bad that year.
I am saying that these are teams we have played over the course of the past five years or so from Ohio.

BG beats a team that beat Cin St X, great. Elder's terrible is John Hardin's all-time team on roids. By the way didnt Highlands thrash BG in a state championship withn 5 years? This Highlands teams is way better. (i know BG is too)

I dont think christian county is in their district but Warren Central is and they are significantly better than holmes. Look at this way. JH, BG and Highlands have played similar teams in Lex. Catholic, Boyle, etc. And in those games the scores were practically similar ( heck JH shut boyle out ) so i honestly dont see where the idea arises where Highlands would beat BG by some significant margin of 3 to 4 touchdowns...i just dont.
12-04-2011, 11:04 PM
Man it sure wouldve been nice this year if they had played

I do not know or think they would beat them by 3-4 TD's, but I do think HHS is not a good match up for BG. I feel BG would have a lot trouble stopping HHS passing game (or contain Towles). Yes, I think BG would have success running against HHS, but they could not keep up the scoring that HHS O would be capable of IMO. The one thing this year that would also help BG is HHS special teams are a lot weaker this year and could hurt them in this mythical game.

I feel you. we can gab and gab throw mud all we want, it is too close to call, two great teams. They would have to play. if only I was king of khsaa. i would demand that they play for my viewing pleasure.

1st post, wahoo.
Anyways, what does any of pre-2011 have anything to do with this year? Different teams, different leadership, etc. I feel like you are slightly underestimating BG as a whole.
Oh well, all is speculation. Wish a home-home series could be started, or actually it would be quite the game if Highlands was invited to BG's opening game at WKU. The "Rafferty's Bowl".
