and summin else i wanna say, i kno alot of yall are gonna disagree with me, but in my eyes wats wrong with the world 2day is like say u were speedin, i kno most of the ppl in magoffin kno everyone, and can get outta it pertty easy, and they do get out of it, which is crazy, cause if u commit a crime, u should haveta pay for it, cause if u dont, ur jus gonna keep doin it and its horrible, cause i mean me personally i would never beg or plead to get myself outta trouble, cause i jus dont do that, and the way ive been brought up if im in trouble im in trouble, and i serve the time for it, but i mean i guess its jus my opinion, its jus crazy how the world works, if u kno someone high in ur town, then i guess ur jus set for life

With anything, if you know that you are doing something wrong and there is a chance of getting caught and getting in trouble then you are less likely to do it. I can see getting some tickets thrown out but not nearly as many as they do. My neighbor was caught doing 119 in a 55 and his ticket got thrown out!

How in the hell did he not go to jail? They should have taken him to jail.
01-01-2006, 07:02 PM
Exactly.
I thought so too.
He didn't get taken to jail, they wrote him a ticket, he got it thrown out, he still has his license, he still has car insurance..he is a prick and I really don't like him anyway but it is so freaking retarded how the ******* is still on the roads.

I would like to know myself, because for one its an automatic suspension and direct ticket to jail.
01-01-2006, 07:33 PM
That's what I said too bub, that is WAY too far over the speed limit to just get a ticket and THEN get the **** thing thrown out but it happened.
01-01-2006, 07:37 PM
Was a city, state, or sheriff deputy that got him.
To start with if i didnt take someone to jail for going 50 over the speed limit i would have had a ass chewing from hell, there is noway a judge around here would throw it out they may reduce it so it wasnt as bad but not throw it out.

I have no clue who arrested him but it was near Elkhorn City so it could have been any of the three really. I have no idea why he wasn't taken to jail and why in the heck a judge threw it out...wish they hadn't though.

It is a lot harder to get tickers thrown out in Pike County compared to 5 or 10 years ago but it is still very doable if you know the right people. The main reason it is harder in Pike County now is when a few years ago the former Pike County corner's son(the name slips me right now)was in a bad car accident on Buckleys Creek and he killed a woman and her unborn child and they were on the way to the hospital in Pikeville because she was in labor. The guy that hit her was either drinking or on drugs and was going very fast and he had previously had several tickets thrown out by the judges in Pike County so it came down pretty hard on them if I remember correctly as it should have.

Not to say I won't try to use my connections to get out of it but if I can't so be it I shouldn't have broken the law. And if one of those same speeders that were getting busted had struck and injuried or killed a family member of yours I bet you would see that differently. No one made them speed.
I just think its rediculous using a stupid Mini Van decoy to shoot you out of. I just hate D.O.T.'s period, Ecspeccially when they are being sneeky like that. I drive a Coal truck so I am gonna hate them. You can't make one trip up and down the road with out them messing with someone over nit picky stuff. Plus I am a speeder as well, I pretty much have too if I want to make any money.:big grin:
I don't get mad when I get pulled over, I just take my ticket and go. Heck I was coming South on 23 the other day through Johnson Co. and the County Sherriff clocked me and a buddy doing 71 mph, We were talking on the CB and I told him that we just run up on the sheriff, and he told us to go ahead and hit the shoulder, so we started to pull off. He told us to go on to the top of the hill and pull off, all the while me and my buddy just kept on talking about what we were coming back up the road. then he asked who we drove for, and I told him my dad, and my buddy told him who he drove for. He ended up letting us go on, He said he wasn't gonnna write us just give us a good talking too... He said consider this a Early Christmas present from the Johnson Co. Sheriffs Dept. We were lucky there.

I know what you mean and there's speeding and then you have wreckless driving with speeding. Certainly a difference and people don't realize how long it takes you guys to stop those trucks especially when your going 15 over. LOL
I see both sides but I also know some drivers use every excuse to fly and then some others that make a good living that very seldom go over the speed limit. I guess its just a difference in opinion.

I normally won't go over 65 when I'm loaded. It is hard to stop with big loads and running 75 mph. I am glad they are making us haul smaller loads as well. It's easier on the trucks, we can stop easier, and they are gonna have to pay more money for us to haul it. Ecspecially when they put the weigh station in down at the Floyd/ Johsnon Line....

I've seen some truckers in pikeville doing 50 or 55 which is very unwise with a full load becuase of all the stop lights, a friend told me his dad drives through there at 25mph or less so he doesn't wear out his truck.

Yeah I go through there everyday... I hate those lights...... Yeah, they go through there all the time that fast. Which is crazy because all it does is burn brakes up when you have to stop real fast......
