I think your selling the sec short at qb. Outside if Andrews luck and landry Jones they're about even 2org everyone else. I mean Aaron Murray has been really good at Georgia Jordan Jefferson at lsu, Stephen Garcia was at SC before off field issues. Not to mention UK started a freshmen who played well and auburn and Alabama each had first year starters. So I think the qb's are better than you say. It is a lot easier to put up numbers in Big 12 or Pac 12 cause your not facing the same caliber defense every week. I also forgot the qb at Arkansas has been good and is also first year starter.

Tomcat I think you may be wrong. From what I understood from a person that knows him well is that some of the top SEC schools are still recruiting him hard, even though he has committed to UL. I dont think Ky is a measuring stick for any Ky recruits. If Im not mistaken they were very late on Towles with an offer. I personally dont think they wanted to offer him as early as they did but pressure mounted after the state championship game. If you look there is a pattern with UK and Ky kids they wait till the very last moment and see who offers and come and swoop in at the last minute we have had a couple kids in my area Channing Fugate at TN ect. That works in some cases and Towles was a huge UK fan from what I read. I think this type of disrespect to Ky kids is growing a little thin and in Bolings case I dont think he had much interest in the way they handled his recruitment. This is second hand info but it comes from people close to him.

Towles throws 11 times and wins by 3 touchdowns.
Reality Check:
I believed he had no running game. He had to throw 43 times to stay close to the game.

There's guys getting paid every week that can't make some of the throws Towles can make now. What throws is he making right now that guys don't make on Sunday's or Saturday's for that measure? He isn't seeing Saturday pressure or Sunday pressure. Against the best team he played he lasted 1 drive.

Yep I was. That was a very good win I can't take nothing away from them after that game. When someone says that he is making throws that guys on Sunday don't make is silly. Guys don't run wide open for a whole qrt on Saturday and Sundays. People have a hard time distinguishing what goes on in high school to what goes on, on Saturday's and Sunday's.

And now an assistant coach at highlands that originally said PT was making throws guys in NFL don't make so it has some merrit.

Kentucky is in the sec, but they do not get SEC players. Louisville's roster looks much more like one found in the SEC than that of UK. Towles should go to UK and compete right away for the starting job, where as he would have had to sit at least three years at U of L before having a chance to see the field.

I disagree remember UK has freshman Maxwell Smith who played well for the cats. Joker also likes experienced qb's that's why he stuck with Morgan newton so long. Realistically I say pt redshirts next year and takes over when smith leaves.

I've heard that both Smith and Newton may need some sort of surgery in the off season. I would suspect that PT may be asked to start vs. UL in the first game of the 2012 season. Welcome to the SEC big fella!

I knew newtons injury was pretty serious didn't here that about smith. So maybe PT is a day one starter then.

Tom Cat you forgeting about guys like Robert Griffin Matt Barkley and Brandon Welden who would all be the best QB in the SEC. I do agree that that SEC defenses are far better than other confrences. Arkansas QB is solid but those others are not very good at all.

Let me start off by saying I'm a hugh PT fan but, college ball and high school ball are two different animals. The game is much quicker and PT will not have time to sit back in the pocket like he can now. But, yes another but, PT will learn quickly how to read the defense and get rid of the ball much quicker than he has to now. I hope UK is bringing in some bigger, stronger and quicker O-linemen to help protect the QB. The O-line was suppose to be one of the strengths of this years team however I didn't see it that way. Good luck to PT and UK I hope they can improve on what they did this year.

I only saw Towles play 3 games in his career but i was very impressed. he has all the tools. i know Kyle Bolin. Louisville is very lucky to get him. hes a great young man that possesses all the intangibles you look for. as far as size he is a solid 6-3 without shoes, and weighs 185-190 pounds. last i checked most sec qbs are around that size. Towles has great size so i dont think bolin is small as much as Towles is huge. I think both will be stars at the next level, but from what i have seen myself i think kyle bolin is gonna be a special player.
