Bolin carpet bombs the Birds with passes and seemingly runs at will against the Bluebird D. I think Bolin was spectacular tonight in the defeat. Towles is still Commander in Chief as he takes over in the 2nd half. Highlands abandoned the passing game totally b/c Towles was ineffective in the 1st qtr. The sign in Towles front yard tonight: Mission Accomplished
Lex Cath and Bolin will be back to terrorize the Birds next year:yikes:

Bolin got chance after chance due to all of the STUPID bird secondary penalties. Bolin was impressive, but not that impressive!
11-26-2011, 12:32 AM
Well, on my Ipad he ran all over and passed all over the Birds tonight. Very impressive being a Jr.

Bolin was as every bit as good as Towles tonight! At least that was Chris Collinsworth's opinion.

Bolin did a nice job with the Qb draw and scrambling on 3rd and 12 all night against the 3 man rush. He also did a good job with the short, quick outs. He's a nice player. He's not on Towles level however. Lexcath will be good next season. The also lose in the semi's at Highlands next year. Don't forget all the guys Highlands has back too.

Towles didnât attempt a pass in the second half after completing seven of 11 in the first half for 108 yards and one touchdown.

Is Towles going to UK? If so,does the son of UK All American center,Kenny Roark, also take his game there? Chase Roark is a very capable QB with all the tangibles but,not as highly touted because of the lack in the talent level around him at Middlesboro. Does he go and try to give the Bluebird's QB a run for his money and then leave if he doesn't get the job or does he take his game elsewhere and probably get a starting position? I think it would be great if both went there. I think they could push one another to be the best they can be. Any thoughts?

There's not many QB's in the entire country this year that would beat out Towles. The kid from Middlesboro may want to check the local small colleges down that way. He's not beating out Towles.

He didn't need to. The game is about winning. Towles does whatever his team needs him to do. He knows he's the best QB in the state regardless of what some 5'10" scrambler on another team does against his defense.

I was happy to finally get to see these two play. I was impressed with Bolin. But Towles has the physical gifts of a future NFL QB right now. Bolin could be just as good next year if he keeps training and getting stronger. I have never seen a QB throw like Towles or one his size move like he does.
No 4A team in KY can play with Highlands.

Bolin is good but Towles is one of the best QBs in the country. I would pick Towles over anybody. He is the real deal. Towles can throw, run, or do whatever the coach needs him to do. If we weren't 50 points better than everybody else, Towles would probably be playing a lot more in the second half and have even greater numbers.

Right now, I would take Towles over Bolin, but Bolin is only a junior and has another year to improve. It will be interesting to see where Bolin is after next season.

Bolin was very impressive. I think he needs to add some size enjoyed watching him and towles play both UK and UL have some good qb's coming in.

I agree. Bolin is good. Louisville is a good place for that little guy. He can play Big East Football. He's just not an SEC player.

Bolin is a nice QB. He had a nice short ball and could run it but didn't see much of a long ball from him. Waiting to see how he progresses next year.

Both are very good high school QB's to say the least. But I'm taking Towles without a doubt. Bolin is accurate and smart, but Towles flat out makes plays.

If Towles played for Middlesboro what would he have done? I don't think he would have done any better. Towles isn't the entire HHS Offense. He has a great supporting cast.

Not unless he adds about 30lbs

Towles is a great QB. There's no doubt. But he owes quite a bit of his success to Austin Sheehan. 1,013 YD's on 29 catches,35 YD's a catch. Sheehan racked up a lot of those yards after the catch. Bolin didn't have that to work with. What if he had?
11-28-2011, 11:09 AM
Bolin's size will limit his future as a QB. He has good talent. He doesn't have the physical tools to make some of the plays Towles makes.
11-28-2011, 04:46 PM
Bolin will for sure have to add size tohis frame before he can be effective in college, but UofL rans a different offense and even Will Stien was effective and IMO Bolin will be twice the player Stien is. Towles has it all in front of him to be great in college and in the pros he has all the things that can't be taught.
What do you NKY fans think about Pike and Auburn will he be a factor there?

I don't think Pike will ever take a snap at Qb for Auburn. I really don't believe he will see the field anywhere. If he does, it will be somewhere on the defensive line, or TE. He's an athletic guy. However, I really look for him to get into it with his teammates and eventually leave. That may not be the politically correct statement to make, but that's what I think will happen.

Wow! You would think every poster on here was defending PT. I think he is a good QB. I dont understand why the Highlands fans have to defend him so much? I drove up with my son to see the game. I was most impressed with Boling. That doesnt mean PT is not a good QB. Several post talking about his size, Boling is a legit 6.25 to 6.3 190lb guy I have seen him at camps but moves like a 5'11. My opinion is this he is a born QB he is able to create passing lanes with his feet.He has a quick release and is more accurate than any qb I have seen. He has a great arm not the arm of PT but does that matter? His ball is extremely catchable and has great touch. He finds the open receiver, it was evident in that game #1 was the only reciever that could get open. How many drops did they have have and hit 2 guys in the face mask 1 bounced off for a interception. I want to touch on size, the kid hasnt matured yet my gosh he will be 210 in the blink of an eye. Physical tools? this is the one I find funny what tools does he not have? I will admit he cant play full back PT can. Remember Farve was 6'2 205 when he came into the league, Breeze isnt 6 ft. Warner was 6'2 210 in his best seasons. PT is a great QB and maybe one of the best ever down the road. Kyle Boling was the best QB on the field friday night. I knoe wide left is an expert on everything but my eyes dont deceive me I saw the game and if a couple calls go different it still could have been a close game despite the 2 run backs. The 4th and 21 seed Boling delivered to #1 (which was another amazing pitch and catch) was called back on a BS call, see picture in anther post. That would have changed alot I think. But I will pull for anyone against Highlands I have no use for most of the posters. Great team though alot of talent I dont care where they live in Campbell Co.

The best throw towles made was an out route about 15 yards across his body. The receiver was covered towels throws it about 12 inches of the ground to his receivers outside shoulder where only be can go down and get it. Those are the throws he makes that no qb in the state can make.

I was slow to warm up to Towles when he was a sophomore. He's made great strides from game to game that year, and from year to year since. I really think he has NFL talent. There's guys getting paid every week that can't make some of the throws Towles can make now.

I agree 100%. I too was not impressed with him his soph year and I am amazed at how much he has progressed over the years. If he puts on some size and strength his frosh year at UK, it will be a lot of fun to see how far he can go.

So to say that Towles is a better prospect simply because of a UK commitment, in my eyes, is invalid.

He never said towels was a better prospect cause he was a UK committ he said bolin didnt have the size for the SEC. I agree bolin needs to add size if he were in the SEC his frame wouldn't stand up to the punishment thats why he plays in UK's backyard but is going to UL. Now Louisville may hit a homerun cause he seems like a very good player. But the SEC wouldn't recruit him cause he is too small. And yes UL beat a bad SEC team but when ky is an average SEC team the games arent even close. I could be wrond but doesn't UK own a big advantage in the series? I could be wrong.

Reality Check:
Kyle Bolin throws 43 times and gets beat by 3 touchdowns.
Towles throws 11 times and wins by 3 touchdowns.

I'm sorry but QB play in the SEC is not that great no question they are the top confrence but there QB play is lacking even top teams like LSU Alabama QB play is the weak link of their team.
No matter who is behind center unless you have an offensive line that can block the QB will take a beating.
