Did anyone go see Skynyrd last night in the Expo Center?
#1
If anyone on here went how was the show and did the expo staff do a better job with all of the crowd getting in on time?

The show was great...Can't remember the name of the opening band...but 38 Special and Lynyrd Skynyrd put on two great shows...the story of how 38 special got its first amplifier bought for them by Rhonny Van Zant was really something to hear...I thought the staff did a great job...people were getting armbands based on if they were over 21 or under 21...and if they were a designated driver or not..and yes..the doors opened fairly early..I was able to get in..walk around..find my seat..look at the merchandise and get some drinks before the opening band even came out..the staff did a very good job last night..no to mention that the show was GREAT!!!

Man thats great to hear, cant wait to catch a show in there.

I agree that is great to hear. From walking around the Expo it doesn't look like there is a bad seat in the house. I hope they continue to bring in good acts and a different variety of entertainment the way they have since the venue opened.

I didn't see the show but I saw Skynyrd at Holiday Inn around 1:30 last night

I drove by the expo center about 7 and there were lines from both doors around the post office, 5-6 people thick. Then I went back by at like 8:10 and there wasn't anyone outside. Seemed like they got it done :thumb:

The show was unreal...Both bands put on a great school...Expo Center is doing a great job of getting great bands...they could have done a little job better at organzing the lines b/c it was a little sketchy but all in all it was cool...They will learn it is new and growing...This is wakeing Pikeville up...It is so to speak WAKEING THE BEAST...haha

The opening band was pinkeye d'gekko or PD'G.

My cousin won 2 tickets through his work and took his wife.
They said that it was a great show when it came to Skynyrd.
.38 Special really wasn't THAT great and the opening band well..they were okay.
But anyways, the Expo Center went back on their word basically.
The whole thing about the armbands that they publically announced didn't hold up. People got the armbands but the alcohol vendors didn't check.
They let you buy an unlimited number of drinks before 10:30 or something and then it was reduced to one person at a time.
There were luckily no accidents as a result which is VERY good news and I am glad that some names are coming into the area.
The next few shows sounds like bigger and better names are coming all of the time.

I am glad that the expo center is doing such a great job of lining up entertainment for the people of east kentucky. I can't wait till I get the chance to go myself.

one of my friends went....he said it was AWESOME!!!

What was the deal with the armbands Tribe? I hope there isn't a max amount of drinks that a person can buy. I plan on buying many when I go to the Kid Rock show and defintely don't want someone cutting me off unless I deserve and thankfully I am way past those days...lol.

They SAID that you are limited and they would stamp your armband and crap but they didn't and everyone bought unlimited amounts of drinks...no worries, they never cracked down. It was just a front to make themselves look good and responsible.
