Valley 2012
#1
VALLEY
Coach: Andrew Bailey (fourth year).

Last season: 7-15, lost to Pleasure Ridge Park 101-61 in first round of 21st District.

Player to watch: F Demorray Woodard (6-1, Sr., 6 ppg., 5 rpg.). Woodard is a football player whom Bailey says is “one of my best rebounders. He’s hard-nosed, aggressive and a workhorse.’’

Other top players: G Nate Haley (5-10, Sr. 5 ppg., 3 apg.); F Jacob Mills (5-10, So.); C Delrico Farris (6-4, Jr.); G Robbie Crittenden (5-9, Jr.l, 3 ppg., steals).

Outlook: The Vikings return no starters from last season and only have three seniors on a 12-man squad. Mills is a good shooter, but Valley must depend on its defense with only one player over 6-1. “We’ll be young and with our size, we’ll have to press, press, press,’’ Bailey said.
