Has to be Matt Maynard......Scored 23, 26, & then 46 points for an average of 31.6 points per game during the Appalachian Wireless Schoolboy Classic. If not Maynard, then Jamie Case scored 25, 24, & 27 in the tourney for an average of 25.3 points per game in the tourney. And their team won the tournament. :big grin:

Paintsville would be a very good team without Slone, take Maynard off of Belfry and their not a very good team.

Belfry beat Perry Co. Central when Maynard had only one practice, belfry would be just as good without Maynard as Paintsville would be without Slone...

There is no way Belfry would be a contender without Maynard, Teams would key on Case with their best defender, May is solid but he's not a big offensive threat and the big guys are role players who rebound and play D, they wouldn't be able to score. Paintsville has Vanhoose, Bundy, Pugh and Grimm who can all drop 20 on a given night.

Landon dropped over 100 points in the Hoops Classic.

Landon is a player I'm not saying he isn't but Maynard is more important to Belfry than Slone is to P-ville. If Slone played for Belfry and Maynard played for P-ville then Slone would be more important. Pville has more weapons on offense.

I still say Belfry has more weapons than Paintsville... Look at both teams starting 5:

Maynard-Slone: I would take Maynard any day over Slone, Maynards speed and great defeanse makes him an even better player.
Case-Vanhoose: Jamie is stronger an can shoot better, Vanhoose may have the edge on the defeansive side for now.
May-Pugh: Pretty well even IMO May shoots better an is deffently stronger
Bowman-Bundy: A toss up, Bundy is more experenced.
Steele-Willams: Chad is hands down the better player here.

An the number one thing Belfry has over Paintsville is athleticism, Belfry would flat out ware Paintsville down, from what I've saw paintsville is not very well conditioned... Paintsville is a very good team and I respect them, but I just think this is Belfry's year.
