KENTUCKY COUNTRY DAY
Coach: James Booker (fourth year).
Last season: 13-12, lost to Eastern 81-38 in 28th District semifinal.
Player to watch: Blake Scinta, a 6-8 senior forward, averaged 10.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists last season while shooting 50 percent from the field and 73 percent from the free-throw line. He provides matchup problems for most teams.
Other top players: G Mac Ferguson (5-9, Sr., 5.4 ppg); G Keith Miller (5-10, Sr., 5.1 ppg).
Outlook: The Bearcats must replace three of their top four scorers after the graduations of Jason Geer, Jordan Schwartz and Ward Paschal. They helped KCD record its first winning season since 2002-03. Booker believes another winning season is possible behind a strong senior class led by Scinta, Ferguson and Miller.
