You're right Hatz...I've not noticed you don't usuallly say much more than Go Rebels or picking you team to win. My hat off to you. The reason that Rockcastle doesn't have a tarp...or turf or things like that is the fact the county just doesn't have that kind of budget. The coaches and the schools grounds staff have to try to keep up the fields...all fields...baseball, football etc.... When you take a job as coach...you become way more than a coach in Rockcastle. I've watched the coaches trying to spray for weeds, digging up and edging baseball/softball fields and fertilizing several times at Rockcastle. A fundraiser in a rural county like Rockcastle will just carry so far as there aren't that many businesses and only so much money to go around. Jack said he had roots in Brodhead...if he is younger than fifty years old...he may have played on the same baseball fields that are at the fairgrounds in little league. The money isn't there. They are going round and round right now down there about a recreational complex for the kids at the almost broke country club. If the county does buy the country club, they will have to finance it(borrow) to pay for it. There is something about it every week in the paper. I'd say that the football field and stands are in really good shape for the use that the field sees and for a county that small.

He's a big sports fan and I'm pretty sure he still has E. Jess. hammer somewhere.

may both teams stay safe no injuries tonight
both teams will play hard and hope ROCK wins the fight
Boyle is 20 point favor by BGR and there fans are not alone
just remember that even an underdog will protect its home
when the kickoff hits and time stands still
this underdog wont lose its will
this underdog dont laydown it stands with pride
so buckle up Boyle and enjoy the rocket ride
I am no poet but this was fun lol

hahaha, sounds like rock coaches are going all out telling our kids about Boyle wanting to wear dark jerseys
Iheard it is still raining at rock, my wife said she was in town getting some food and she could hardly see for the rain.

For the record the only thing i got worked up about was the possibilty of the field being watered down.In hindsight i shoudn't have because i don't think Rock would do something that low.this has been a great thread you guys from Rockcastle are allright in my book.this will probably be my last post until after the game i've got to go hang a couple of tree stands.good luck to both teams i hope for a injury free game, fairly officiated game, and may the best team win.

Trenches07 Wrote:Jack, I would agree a little but we all can agree that FOOTBALL is a game of leverage and if the smaller/quicker team gets off the ball and hits the bigger slower opppnent in the mouth before they get started than the advantage would flip.
Speaking as a "smaller guy" who sometimes had slug it out in the mire, I never had any advantage over guys who outweighed me by 40 lbs in the slop. It's simple physics of weight and "leverage" is lost when the conditions change from a place of good footing to one without.
You can also add the argument of speed backs versus just tough backs. Speed is negated in slop every time.
For the Record, I doubt the Rockets have done anything to their field and as I've stated before I've never seen them be a classless program that would do that to gain some kind of advantage.

HonestJohn Wrote:I read through these threads about every week and I have never heard the Boyle Co. faithful go on like this. They sound like PCC fans. I would think that being favored by 20 they would not be as scared of Rock as they seem to be. Rock has never beaten Boyle and yet all kinds of accusations and petty crying games just keep coming. Both teams play the same game on the same field and the one with the most points wins, it isn't always the best team (ask Russell Co.). I shutter to even think how much crying will be going on if they were to come up short in this game. Have a little class. The game hasn't even started yet, but I'm sure the officiating will be next.
I second what Hatz said. Not all, just a few have said something. IMO Boyle would have an edge in a sloppy field.

I think this game comes down to Boyles linemen on both sides of the ball. If the O-line can hold off rocks big d linemen and open holes for the running backs and protect Whittle they should win. Muddy or dry this will be a good game. Both teams will half to play a full 48 minutes of football and may the best team win. Good Luck!

I have yet to see Rock play this year but I'm sure they are the same as always. Playing hard nose football. Can't wait to get this one started almost as much as the 2010 Bell game, well not
really. With Boyle's new desire to protect the football I'll take the Rebels by 20. Good luck and safe travels for all coming and going.
As this veterans day winds down stop and thank a VETERAN for their sacrafice. Without them this whole forum even if it existed, would be written in German. My god is an awesome god.
