Pretty good night of football in the mountains. Good tailgating, good company, and a win for the bears. Smile
#6
Congrats Bears!
#7
Did Pulaski play that good on D? That has been a weak spot for them all year. Congrats PC on giving HC a much closer and tougher game than they expected.
#8
I am so proud of my BLACK BEARS and the FILTHY ANIMALS!!!!

GO BLACK BEARS!!!!!

Harlan County didn't throw a pass tonight. Once they got the lead they were very vanilla on offense. I believe they were also still thinking about last week's loss. I would expect them to be much better next week.

Hc did not play the best game I have seen out of them...

First play of the game saw a personal foul called:HitWall: Kinda of set the tone for the night......
#11
I did not think this game would be this close.
#12

Much closer than most expected, but I'm loving the shutout by the Filthy Animal D.

The obvious strongpoint is we held a team averaging 40 a game to Zero. Great job Filthy Animals! Turned the ball over on downs on PC 1, and had a fumble. The stat line will be interesting....We gained a lot of yards to come away with 21 points.

The Black Bears didn't play their best, but did shutout Pulaski. Nobody had done this to Pulaski all year. GO BLACK BEARS!!!!!

The score really surprised me. Much closer than I expected. a win is a win.

Only 20-0??? Still hungover from last weeks game???
#21
Told ya this game would be close....

Bears ran for 405 yards on 48 carries. Did not attempt a pass. I expect them to look much better next week. They weren't motivated to play this week.
#23
^I don't believe they weren't motivated.
Larkey doesn't let that happen lol
But if they weren't....
they will be next week lol

405 yards and only 20 points to show for it?

Was it turnovers or an inability to finish the drives in the red zone?

Have to think it was hard to get back up after the emotions of last weeks build-up and game.

“We are thankful we pulled this one out. I don’t think we played with much inspiration,” said Harlan County coach Tom Larkey. “This has been a bad week of practice. It has been rough getting over things this week. But, we are over things now. We are going to move on an try to win round two next week.”

“I felt like when we didn’t score we should have scored,” Larkey said. “I didn’t really feel like our kids played as hard as they should have played. I don’t feel like we ran the ball as hard as we should have ran.”

I think it's just natural to not be entirely up for this game after last week.

all that matters is win and advance

I just want to gave a shout out to Filthy Animal and all the Mama Bears in Harlan. I had a great time and some great food tonight!! Good luck with the rest of your season and hopefully I will get to come to another this year!

As far as the game goes, Pulaski's defense had their best game of the season and besides the first quarter, their defense was absolutely amazing in my opinion. They really cam up big against the run and gave their team a change to win but, you do have to score in order to win. Watching the offense tonight was very aggravating to say the least. I really don't know why Coach Hines continued to call the same running play, going up the middle that never amounted to anything, especially when there were four receivers with no extra blockers. :HitWall: Since I don't know the playbook, I'm not going to blame Aaron for anything but, there were many passing plays tonight where it seemed as if he was looking for one particular receiver and if that receiver was not open, he would tuck and run. On almost all these plays either Cody Wesley or Tyler Jackson were open. There was definitely some bad decision making going on somewhere along the line in the most critical time of the game.
