Lawrence Co 21 Morgan Co. 14
#1
The tough schedule pays off for the Dawgs
#2
Congrats LC! LC has a steep hill to climb at Belfry...but this win will only help move their program forward regardless of next week's outcome.
#3
Congrats to LC GOOD LUCK next week at BELFRY.
#4
Congratulations, LC!
#5
Congrats dawgs in a hard fought w.
#6
Good win for the Bulldogs. It would have been weird not to see LC in the 2nd round.

Congrats LC
#8
gd deal for district 8 ,they win 3 of the 4 games in round 1..
#9
Lawrence and Morgan, both teams left it all on the field and played thier guts out. Morgan ends their season with an 8-3 record and the first Morgan team in school history to ever host a playoff game. Best of luck to Lawrence county.

Both teams played as hard as you could have asked of them. Very hard fought game.
#11
Congrats LC, now your reward is a rematch with Belfry

If there was an all-state Ref. Team this crew would have to be in the running. They threw flags for any and every thing. There flags were tattered at the end of the game. The Ref. was a class act. The hat was snow white and was set off by a Patent Leather Belt. Could not see if the shoes matched. The jukes were worth the price of admission. Good game by the Cougars as they never gave up and really had a team concept. The Dawgs played much better and showed their tough schedule. They would have scored more if the circus crew had permitted. For awhile it looked like the Zebras would be playing at the Cam.

Congrats Lawrence keep working hard.... Now for the zebras...In the first half alone.. it was 115 to 30 in flag yardage with LC winning that battle.... Every long run we had was called back.... shame on them...

Awesome game Bulldogs! You had to play a 14 player team as well as fight off the chain gang. The crowd support in this game was amazing! Good luck against Belfrey next week and Seniors remember your Freshman year 2008.. your 0fer season Belfrey was in the state Semi Finals but could only beat you by a score of 20-13!

I thought ref's for playoff games are brought in from another region? I know Perry Central's game had 15th region officials. Regardless, congrats to Lawrence on the win and congrats to Morgan on a good season.

I had this one picked different. I really thought Morgan Co. would get one of their biggest wins in school history.

Deceptive? 8-3 is 8-3, where's the deception at? Morgan just a couple years ago lost 19 straight games so there has been a tremendous improvement. Wait, they don't even have football in Lee county. Lawrence won the game 21-14 but it was a war. I give Morgan and Lawrence credit, both teams layed it on the line, neither team gave up. But your full of shit on your discription of "deceptive". Lawrence had a heck of a team and lost to some very good teams. Morgan won 8 games this season and just a couple of years ago, they were 0-19. Morgan came a long way the past couple years, when you get a football team in Lee county, we will be more than glad to play you. But that will never happen, I bet you guys have soccer though...

Congratz on a great season Morgan. I was really hoping you guys could move on. I have a feeling that we will be hearing a lot from Morgan in the next few years.

The refs in this one was as horrible as I have ever seen. Between them and the chain gang allowing Morgan Co to repeat downs its a wonder it turned out the way it did. My hat is off to Morgan County. They played tough hardnosed football and their program has came a long way. I pity the teams that get these clowns next week.

congrats LC

When you start winning people become envious. As a Lawrence Co fan I tip my hat to what you all have done in Morgan Co. That is a huge turnaround. Your kids played physical + hard + with a lot of heart! You have a lot to be proud of. Best of luck as you continue to build something there.

yeah morgan has a lot to be proud of not long ago the dawgs came off a 0-10 season.i think the majority of dawgs fan can appreciate what it means to morgan co.

Not a losing team on this schedule in 2008.. I think what was meant is that the only team Morgan played with a winning record was Breathitt Co. But regardless the only games that count are the district games.. Morgan did not get to pick them and all the others were basically scrimmage game. In 2009 LC went 12-0 which was considered a perfect season, but same scenario many weak teams. Coach Salmons was trying to rebuild his team, get new players out and instill confidence in his team.. just like Morgan Co.'s coach. I would way that next year you will see a little tougher schedule and you will see a lot more kids out to play for Morgan. I wish them all the luck in building a team with winning tradition in the future. The Cougars got a good start with this season.
