A lot of people are putting Harlan and Bowling green in it, but I think they really need to be considering John Hardin and Franklin County also. Both have a lot of speed and their coaching is very good also. I do agree with you, but I think it will be These four teams everyone needs to be looking at to be the top considering these teams for the 5A.

Now with Harlen County getting beat by Bell county and Rockcastle getiing beat by Montgomery I wonder how this could change some preditions.
#5
I think Franklin County has a good chance.
It will be either them or Harlan County out of the east.

In the west, BG, JH, Warren Central or Christian could come out.

One things for sure, the west is so much better and the state title will be a blowout IMO.

The Bell Co. / Harlan Co. game is a rivalry! Harlan Co. controlled the ball for most of the game. Three big plays really hurt. Hats off to Bell Co. they played very well. I don't think this game will affect the outcome of the 5A playoffs at all. The Black Bears are prepared to go all the way this year! Look out state here we come!! Go Black Bears!!!
#7
I'm thinking John Hardin vs Franklin Co. I'm not so sure that HC will make it out of the region. They will have their hands full w/ SW.

The West wins.

I disagree!! I think HC will make it to Bowling Green!! Go Black Bears!

Look for the Cooper Jags to make some noise in the playoffs. Coach Borchers has his team and their program headed in the right direction.
#10
I like Harlan Co in the east bracket. As RIUTG has said the west has got 2 or 3 teams that could win it. I like JH but I'm going with Bowling Green.

Bowling Green-41
Harlan Co-22

I still think a lot of you all are overlooking Franklin County, They have got the speed and not just with one player with many players, Timmons, Maupin, Anderson, Jarbo, Woodside and who can forget Roberts a 225 pound 6'3" running back, Franklin County's offence is very hard to defend with all these weapons in the back feild. Franklin County has got a lot more to contend with than the 3 headed moster of Bell county and Halan could not stop Bell last night. I just do not think Harlan is ready for this kind of speed yet.

So you are saying they are like BellCo.? i think not.:dudecomeon:
#13
I think if Bell Co. can gut Harlan with 60 plus yard runs for touchdowns Franklin County with their speed has a pretty good shot at that too.
#14
Timmons kid is the fastest i have seen in years, long as he stays healthy they got a good chance for state.
#15
Looking at this bracket, Cooper has a decent shot of making it to the finals.
#16
Harlan County focuses on one game at a time! But I don't think they will face an opponent like Bell unless they make it to Bowling Green. I know nothing about Franklin Co. Sounds like they have a little bit of everything The Black Bears have faced this year.
#17
Hmmmm i dont see Cooper making it past Anderson County
#18
Bowling Green over by 3 TDs in the Championship game over....

Perry Central Wink

I see several people on here predicting Harlan Co making it to the state finals. My question is...why? What does Harlan have that makes them a possible favorite to come out of the east? Legit question, because I don't know, I haven't seen them play and know very little about them, which is why I'm asking. Personally, I think anyone playing Franklin Co will have their hands more than full, and think they have as much a good shot coming out of the east as anyone.

Not that it proves anything, but just to compare scores, Harlan County's offense was a lot more explosive against a common opponent.

Franklin County 34
Letcher Central 27

Harlan County 60
Letcher Central 12

Are BG, John Hardin, and Warren Central in the same district?

Who will each team play to make it to the Championship game?

However, Franklin County played LCC with Logan Johnson playing. Harlan Co did not. That makes a significant difference in the quality of LCC as an opponent.

Harlan County made it to the semi's last year and I think there chances are even better to get past that this year with Highlands out of the mix.
Franklin is no slouch, though.
If it wasn't for watching Tom Larkey burst teams bubbles for years I would pick Franklin County lol

Perry Central will beat Harlan County now wait and see what i'm telling you.
#25
If they make it to the regional's that is...

Patriot Wrote:Are BG, John Hardin, and Warren Central in the same district?

WEST
Barren County @ Christian County
Graves County @ Warren Central

Greenwood @ Ohio County
Apollo @ Bowling Green

Shelby County @ John Hardin
North Hardin @ Bullitt East

Bullitt Central @ Jeffersontown
Grayson County @ North Bullitt

As you can see from the west side, BG and JH would not meet until the State semis. I think the winner of that one will be your state champ.

EAST

Montgomery County @ Cooper
South Oldham @ Anderson County

East Jessamine @ Conner
Scott @ Franklin County

Whitley County @ Southwestern
South Laurel @ Perry Central

Letcher County @ Lincoln County
Pulaski County @ Harlan Co.

Also, since its a odd year (2011), the odd number districts (1,3,5,7) will host the will host the regional title game..

i said Perry Central will beat Harlan County now wait and see what i'm telling you.

And that's the bottom line because stone cold said so.!
