KHSAA12 Wrote:No team in the 14th will go undefeated this year. I understand pcc is on top just like knott was last year before pcc knocked them off. Saying no team will be able to compete will perry is a BOLD statement esp. with all the new trasnfers each school has this year. With or Without Jaysean pcc is on top of the region until proven otherwise, but as far as beating everyone they play by 20+, i wouldn't bet on it.

LOL knott was KNOTT on top last yr lol u crazy!

^who ever wins your on top until proven otherwise, or unless you have no chance on going bck from losing to many players. They made it bck to region finals and was a single point game. Could have went either way.

No one is disagreeing with the fact PCC should be the best team, but beating teams by 20 and teams not being able to get within striking distance is a huge statement. As I stated on another post, if your predictions are accurate then PCC should not lose a game in the 14th region, and post winning margins by no less than 20 per game. GET REAL???? Get your head out of the commode.

Try Nicholasville rd Lexington KY. And if the truth hurts your feelings im sorry, but besides Knott and maybe Buckhorn on a good night, PCC should beat everyone by 20. I have all the respect in the world for Denny Fugate but Hatcher is just as good or better at coaching. And Perrys talent is head and shoulders above Breathitts.

Really??? I mean you realize who is still coaching at Perry right? When do his teams ever BLOW ANYONE OUT? His style of ball, everyone is always in the game with a couple of shots in the 4th quarter. Nothing against it, he gets results, but no team is ever out of the picture in the slow down game. He just don't blow people out and put them away. I've seen several games they have started the game 15-0 or 20-4 and never put teams away, always seem to let teams hang around and it's always close in he end! Guess we will see what happens this year, but with their schedule, it will be very tough for them, but will be ready for the tourney. Good luck to all 14th region teams.

Perry won 25 games last year by a average of 17.8 pts a game. they beat teams by more than 20 8 times including Corbin, Russelville, Belfry, KCC, and Wolfe. They also stomped Breathitt 82-39. Do some research because obviously you do not know what you are talking about. I expect Perrys team this year with the addition of Jaysean to have a avg win margin of around 25 to 30 a game.

Thanks for trying to describe who you don't know with such a colorful metaphor lol!!!! Yes, it shows typical commode door ignorance.

No offense, but this was last year. Pcc lost a big player in Dalton Cornett and Dustin brewer was a very decent ball handler and shooter imo. The surrounding schools have new talent or a new coach, some have both. But one of perry's strong points while running Hatchers slow ball offense was having 6'8 Cornett down low to either dominate in scoring or grab any board close to him. Pcc is still on top like i've said many times, but the regions changing right in front of us. With Jaysean it will be hard to beat pcc, but without him kcc, cordia, breathitt, buckhorn, and lcc all pose as a threat to perry when it comes to winning region again. This is going to be one the most exciting season 14th region fans have seen in along time.

Dustin might have scored 2 points a game. Dalton is still on the team he is only a junior. i think u meant Dillon his big brother. And im sorry but dillon did nothing but slow the team down. Perry will score more ppg then they did last year. I really am starting to question your knowledge of anything to do wit basketball. You make valid points on some football threads but on here you are realllllly wrong.

Without who? And unless Breathitt gets about 2 or 3 talented transfers they dont stand a chance anyways.

You know nothing about basketball and especially Hatcher ball if you think Dillion Cornett hurt PCC last year! Dillion made everybody on Perry's team better and that includes Braxton Beverly. He was doubled and triple teamed by every team around here. Once Braxton beat his man he had a layup because nobody would help off from Dillon. It want be that easy for Braxton this year.
#46
Dillon certainly helped PCC last year. He clogged up the lane and made it tough for inside shooting. I know it gave Buckhorn fits last year, I actually think Buckhorn would have beaten PCC last year in district if they didn't have Dillon.

dillon helped the team!

You people are seriously fstupid. If you think a team will Dillon Cornett is better then a team with Jaysean Paige you just need to cancel your accounts right now. The only reason dillon was even as good as he was is cause no one was as big as him. As far as talent goes he had slim to none. Perry is going to eat every one alive this year within the region. And as far as braxton goes it will be just fine, teams will be more worried about guarding Jaysean then they ever were with Dillon.

Wow, what a fan!!! Throw a former player under the bus that just helped take you to the state tournament. By the way you have no idea how PCC will jell with Jaysean Paige. Surely the PCC people on this board want condone this statement from dore20.

Im not throwing him under the bus. I was saying the same thing last year when he played like a six year old scared girl in the state tourney. The guy was just big thats all there is to it. No talent or skill involved. Thats why he went to one practice at pikeville realized he couldnt cut it and came home.AFTER JUST ONE PRACTICE!!! His younger brother Dalton who is a junior for PCC is twice the player Dillon ever dreamed of being.

WOW again!!! If that's not throwing him under a bus then it's pushing him off a cliff, GEEZ!!! I can name at least six teams that would have went to the state tournament last year from the 14th region if Dillon Cornett was on their team!!!

And as far as the state tournament game, there has been a lot of good player's that have gone to Lexington and had a bad game. Maybe it had a little to do with the big kid from Wayne Co. And maybe that's why Braxton had such a good game because Wayne Co. game planned to stop Dillon.

Come on Perry people back me up on this!

No one is going to back you up that PCC with Dillon is better than PCC with jaysean because it is a idiotic statement. And what guy from Wayne? there wasnt a person on the floor within 6 inches of Dillon except his brother. If you are hands down the biggest guy on the floor you should always be able to muster more then 2 damn points. he flat out was not a good player he was just the biggest man on the floor every game.

You are the only one talking about Jaysean. I'm talking about YOU being a sorry FAN!!! That's what the Perry fans should back me up on.

Dagan Shelton I believe was his name 6 foot and about 350lbs. He could actually move Dillon out of the paint.

But Perry would NOT have gone to the state tournament without him!!!

Its not being a sorry fan its being honest. Dillon was in no way a great player. Im a Cowboys fan and i wish Tony Romo would just quit. that dose not make me a bad fan, as i said, it is just being honest. And the kid from Wayne was about 7 inches shorter than Dillon if Dagan was only 6 even. that should be plenty enough of a advantage to score more then two damn points. And not making it to state is a arguable statement. Throughout the district and region tournaments he only avg 9 ppg. Including only 4 in each the region semis and finals. If you look at the stats Braxton and Kyle Huff are what carried the team to state

Yes it does! There is only 5 or 6 teams in the NFL that wouldn't take Romo over their starting QB.

He had the girth to move Dillon out of his comfort zone.

Like I said, because everybody was double and triple teaming Dillon Cornett. You just proved my point, he made everbody else better!!!
#57
Dillon Cornett was a very good player in high school. He dominated the paint on both ends. On offense he had a good set of post moves and an excellent touch around the rim. On defense he completely changed the way teams approached PCC. If Cornett was in the area of a shot, it was either altered or blocked. He also dominated the boards on both ends. A player like that is very hard to replace and Perry don't have a true center to replace him. Dillon, with a better work ethic could have been a GREAT player. His brother will probably play center this year and he's not a true center. IMO he'll be a better player than Dillion because he is a better rounded player, but never the defensive presence that Dillion was. And to end this post, you can't compare Cornett and Jaysean. If Jaysean gets eligible, he's going to be one of the best players to EVER play around here.

No go look at the stats Dillon got his shots those games he just missed them. And seriously Romo isnt a top 10 qb, and he is the biggest screw up in clutch situations in the history of the game. And idc if yokozuna was guarding dillon, if you have 7 or 8 inches on someone you should always have more then two points.

Excellent post Aslan.

Talent wise maybe, team wise who knows. Anthony Davis freshman at UK is unbelievablely talented but he did not make his High School team mates better. He tried to do it all and his high school team was terrible!
