Since when is Garrard County, Bourbon County, Russell, Lewis County weak? Western Hills was a late addition to District 5. They asked to be placed in a new district right at the last moment and they put them in District 5

If you look across 3A D5 is probably one of the better/ more competitive districts. :dudecomeon:

Who is your team? What district are they in?
Interesting how you changed your tune to how competitive the districts are...
Anyway...in District 5, Garrard, Powell, and Bourbon are all solid football teams. Western Hills isn't bad and Estill Co. is always tough. In District 6, Russell is always strong and Mason Co. would have been right up there with them if it wasn't for injuries to some key players. You also cannot forget about Lewis Co., they have played well this year.
Weak districts....I really don't think so, and I think a lot of other people would agree. I would say that those 2 districts are very competitive and I would say some pretty good rivalries will develop from these new district alignments.
Hey, we all can't be Belfry, Breathitt, Central, Bell Co. or Paducah Tilghman....but I think Districts 5 and 6 play some pretty good football none-the-less....

Give me the Mountain teams this year for the fight to challenge Louisville Central, Louisville Central will host Region Championship game, in the west and in the East, you will have Breathitt, Belfry and Pike Central to challenge for the East, to fall to Central in Championship game in Bowling Green....imo

Have to agree with Grid Iron Warrior & Old School Hero on this one 3A D5 & D6 very competitive and unpredictable, anything can happen at this point thats why we play the games...

Hey, Bourbon has a mountain of dirt out back where we put the new field in....can that get us our mountain status?:biglmao:
Seriously, thats all anyone seems to think is mountain teams.
Bourbon's history is scared with having to play in 4A for so long.
Had we been playing in 3A as we should it shows we are a more competitive team all the way around. Am I saying we are gonna knock off some of the power houses,No, but I am saying watch out for the Colonels they will bring the fight to you and you will know there was a war for 48 minutes.:1:
10-20-2011, 04:32 PM
That goes for the other teams in District 5 as well, by the way. There is not an easy team to face in District 5.
10-20-2011, 09:58 PM
looks like Tilman will have easy road to semis, and if i am thinking right they should host the Central/Bell winner, cause Central beat Tilaman at there place last year,if so i plan on going to watch that one..

I do not know the 3A teams but based on their records and Freeman Ratings I believe this is the likely pairings for week 12
the first number represents district wins with a decimal approximating the likelyhood of winning this weekend using Freeman ratings
so PT below has 3 district wins and a 99.3% chance of defeating Webster
The second number is the actual Freeman Rating Value
3A district 1
Paducah Tilghman .....3.993 29.5 ( vs Webster County)
Fort Campbell .......... 2.927 15.6 ( vs Heath)
Trigg County ............2 6.7 ( vs North Bullitt)

Aint that the truth. We have the weakest district in the history of football. Jackson, Knott, Magoffin and Morgan combined might make one good football team.
Morgan is improving and Jackson is only in its 4th or 5th year of football so hopefully they can step it up and the district may not be so weak in the future but I'm not holding my breath.

These 3A schools are north of Lexington: Mason Co. ; Western Hills; Fleming County; Henry County; Lewis County & Bourbon County. There are a couple of others which are more northeast (Bath & E & W Carter.) Blame the Golden Triangle effect for expanding schools. The fact there is a single 3A school in Louisville with countywide open enrollment is a KHSAA gift to those folks.
