I agree, however the stats are reported by the school, and some just choose not to share the information. Others share certain parts (i.e. offense only). I'm not sure what (if any) verification process is in place to make sure the stats are accurate. Nonetheless, the KHSAA website contains a wealth of information.

I'm pretty sure Bath County only lists there Offensive Stats. I was looking at there Stats earlier for the Game with Us (Estill) and they only had there offense listed

That was my point...I know ALL teams keep stats, why not report them.

You can import the KHSAA team reported stats into an Excel or Access database, do a few sorts, and come up with some dandy scouting reports. Best thing going.

What does it tell you that you don't already know or suspect?

I'll buy that. I can't see it making that much difference. If you are a coach getting ready to play a team that does not report stats, do you not know that the team you are about to play has a stud QB or RB that will pass or run for a bunch of yards if you don't do something to stop him?

^I agree with that, but scouting is one of the reasons that coaches do not post them.

Most of the time, teams send a scout to the game their next opponent is playing anyway, and either they do stats or they bring someone along to do stats for them, while they carefully watch.

What does it tell me?

I can look at film and see #56 is tough and was really active. If I do a sort of XYZ School's defensive stats in Excel or Access - and I can see that #56 has been involved in 67% of the stops his team has made this year - you can bet #56 is a marked man and gets special attention in my blocking scheme Friday night. The stats nail it down.

That's what it tells me.

I am thinking that Beechwood isn't reporting stats this year to keep it away from Mayfield.

So the numbers in that summary chart are suspect to say the least.

^great point everytime i get on and look at teams stats the numbers never add up to the overalls
