Knox (40) Rockcastle (14) Final
#61
Congrat Knox, I had herd that the rock could not be beat this year!!!
#62
Maybe this game will help people realize why I have had Knox Central in the Mountain Top 10 all year!!!

laker20 Wrote:I'm not so sure about this. I honestly think that the Laker's have a chance (all be it a slim one) against LC. I agree, that the advantage would be heavily towards LC, but we have been able to put up some scrappy points, even when we weren't quite clicking on offense. Bolin threw 6 INTs during his first 8 games. For LC #12 Bouvier & #1 Bush make up 50% of thier pass offense. So, if the Laker's can limit their receptions, and contain Bolin, then they have a chance to pull the upset.

I think all three of our teams can give Boyle Co a good game. In fact, the Boyle game against our 3 seed may be one of the best Round 1 games in the playoffs.

Wow, it sounds like Boyle has no chance of making out of the second round. Maybe not even the first.

^It certainly will not be a cakewalk like most years. However, they can do it.

And I trust your opinion on football, but I watched Rock and Knox both play against Perry, and I felt like Knox was more impressive. JMO.

Hey man, good call.

I just watched this game in iHigh, and I must say Rock played horrid (not so much the players, but the play calling). Not sure what the coach was thinking, but to constantly keep running the ball up the middle I just don't get. I had already stated in the thread after the Rock-Russell game, that the short pass game was there all night when we played and we never took advantage of it. What Knox did was expose what I saw all night against us. Nothing fancy, just spread them out and make the play.

If Rock can't shore up the defensive backfield, they will see more of this.

My, my, my....sensitive aren't we. Did I say that Boyle wouldn't make it past the 1st or second round? No, I said that any of our top three can give Boyle a good game. I don't think that any of our teams will be intimidated playing BC.

LWC Wrote:To former: Really? You honestly do not think Rock was outcoached? Really? There is a reason people poke fun of Rock fans for their unrealistic posts sometimes. That my friend is one of those posts. It is okay to have a love affair with Coach Parkey and to support a program but there is no reason to blow smoke up the tailpipe either, figuratively speaking.

You question my football IQ but you were the person bragging after the Danville game last season that Rock stopped the run so well, yet gave up 40 points and got passed all over.

I am not saying I am perfect or that I am the Bill Parcells of football, by no means am I good enough to be a successful coach in any level above pee-wee and youth league. However, reading the things you post, it is hard for you to question anyone's football IQ.

Once again what is your football experience?

Maybe not out coached because i know how hard and how many hours Rocks coaching staff puts into it but i will say caught off gaurd by what Knox came out with. that dont happen much I think Rock has one of the best coaching staffs

so you say we were outcoached, what do you know about coaching. I know the staff at rock puts in more hours than anyone in the state. to say tony saylor was outcoached is personal, he was my coach and I know how hard he works.

So once again what is your experience with football, did you play HS or coach LL football, or even coach

I agree

The point you are missing is this:

A coach or a staff can prepare 100 hours per week, but if they do not make the proper adjustments during a game or have their team prepared to face anything, they are getting outcoached.

Coaching is not just preparation. If that was the case, Joker Phillips would not have heat now and Coach Cal's coaching would never be questioned.

I really like Tony Saylor and think that he is one of the best defensive minds in the state. However, we have to call a spade a spade and say that the Rocket staff was outcoached. Remember, Tony gives info to Big Dad and he has to choose whether or not to use it.

Rock lost by 26 points, 7 of them came very late. I believe Codi Diamond was already off the field when Rock scored that last TD anyway, I could be wrong. Anyhow, lost by basically 4 TD's AND allowed 40 points to be scored on you. Simply outcoached and outplayed.

Does that mean that Rock cannot beat Knox Central if they played them again? NO! However, Rock was simply beaten and out-coached in this game.

LOL, are you kidding me? Coaches are outcoached in almost every game, AND THEY ARE THE FIRST TO ADMIT IT! Get your shorts out of a wad, and chill out with the crap about "experience". There are those of us with a hell of a lot more "Experience" than you and others with more experience than us! How extensive is your experience? Do you think your's is more than everyone else? I know nothing about space shuttles, but I sure have an opinion about them! Get real with this experience crap!

The intelligence of attacking another poster for their opinion took anything credible that you even said and flushed it down the toilet. If you can't take opinions, then get out of the sandbox and go play by yourself!

I never played in highschool but I do coach my son in JFL now. Does this mean that I, too cannot have an opinion about a football game?

How about I implement a questionaire that everyone has to fill out before they sign up for the site that has them list their qualifications before we allow them to become a member and post their opinions?

Would that be satisfactory?

opinions are great, everyone has one, especially me, and yes for soemone who has no football experience to call out a coach when they know nothing about what goes on on a daily basis or game time, then yes I question what they know and who they are to callout a coach and try to act like they know what is going on.

Just how many tackles did Tony saylor miss friday night? None
how many incomplete passes did parkey throw? none
How many missed blocks did big dad have? None
maybe we were just outplayed instead of out coached.

We beat PCC who beat Knox, go figure. You all are nothing but win every game or else. go back and play your XBOX so you can act like a coach.

Call out a coach hunh! Get over it! I'm positive he has! If a coach does not like criticism, then he should never get into it. But I'm positive he is fine with being called out! Coaches are 100% responsible for their teams! The BUCK STOPS HERE is what every coach wears proudly on their chest! They are the one's responsible for teaching fundamentals to ensure that tackles are made! They are the one's responsible for the QB being prepared to go into the game and execute! They are the one responsible for their lineman knowing the correct scheme to make the block! They are the one who is responsible! It's my responsibility and I accept it! I'm positive your coach does as well! I'm sure that Rock puts in just as many, but more, don't fool yourself, all coaches do. And with all of that time and effort that you put in, you miss things! Trust me - I KNOW! Which probably puts me in more of a position to speak about it than you! Have your opinion, but knocking someone else for theirs indicates that you need to go back to XBox yourself and blame the television players for losing when your team fails to beat the computer team!

Not sure if you made it down to the game or not, but it was obvious that Rock's game plan was failing by their second possession, yet no change (NONE) was made. They kept trying to run the ball up the middle, even once they were down 20-0. It looked like the coaching staff was caught completely off guard. The players made mistakes, but their cumulative mistakes didn't allow the Panthers to score 40....the game plan did.

It happens.

When I win the lottery I will be sure to buy each of you a recliner so you can be a arm chair coach.

I don't need your recliner, I have my own! I sit in it and coach the Reds game every weeknight, just as I expect others to do from the bleachers when I am on the field directing players on the basepaths!
