Belfry @ Pike Central 10/21/11
#1
i know it started this before the games was over, but both are in blowouts, this game will be for the number 1 seed, its the run, run ,a and run some more against the pass,PC was gashed by Powell on the run, Belfry was Gashed by P-burg on the pass, both been couple weeks back, since then Belfry holds Ashland to 6 points, and PC really not played another ground team like Belfry, and we know they still have never beat Belfry, who you got and why?i have Belfry by a couple scores if they keep turnovers down and dont have the special teams errors they have been having, hope for injusy free game..

This could be a fun week

Should be a great game I think Belfry can handle PCC. Prestonsburgh did throw the ball, but looks like they may have fixed that problem. Ashland had little success and when LC tried it failed.Thacker had a pick last week and this week also. Belfrys D looks to be solid dont think PCC can run on them at all and should be able to keep Boggs contained. After the way Powell run on them and lawrence did well running the ball Belfry should be fine if they dont turn the ball over. If Belfry plays like they did against Ashland keeps the mistakes down Pcc will finish second in the district and Haywood will be the all time win leader in KY. GOOD LUCK BELFRY!:1: Lawrence co tried to stop the run and got bit by the pass Belfry proved they can pass if need be so look out, Belfry looks to be getting better by the week and will be tough to beat come playoffs.

to many weapons for pcc to handle...belfry by several...T.Ds

pirates looked great tonite.. steel curtain defense.. threw a couple passes, one was a touchdown.. looked dominating on every angle.. pike central has a game on their hands next week.. haywood will be looking to break the record.. and the rest of the pirates will be ready to make a statement as we get ready for johnson central, and hen the playoffs...
ANGRY RED, ENOUGH SAID.. go pirates..TongueirateSho

As a Pike Central supporter, I just wanna say PC fans can we keep it classy this week and not have any hooplah and arguing with the Pond Creek Nation?

Win or lose this should be a excellent game that I am really looking forward too.

Best of luck to both of us.

More than a couple passes.... Same kid caught 2 TD passes.... one before the half... one after in early 3rd quarter before being pulled.

This should be the wymt game of the week both these team has had this circled all season now its time to put up or shut up this will be great game...i think if the pirates get behind early it will be a long night but if they can get the runin game goin early look out pcc..i think this pirate team is on a mission..belfry by 3 td's.

I'm staying with the Pirates and Haywood. Should be an exciting game.

i think PC probally had it circled, dont belive Belfry did,PC is trying to get the 1st win against Belfry, and they was behind to P-burg, but keep to there game plan and wore them out, think the same thing happens here..

Pike Central will make some plays...score some points...but for 48 minutes can they handle the strength of the Big Red?...Belfry plays more focused on the road for the most part...The special teams for the Pirates needs to improve drastically right now...All that being said, Pirates roll 42-20.

Where does Pike Central have an advantage over Belfry? Not a flame, just wanting to start the discussion.
#16
Having watched both teams play, I'll take Belfry by a couple tds.' But let's not count PCC out, for anything can happen on a given Friday night.
#17
EKU you flame starter you lol!!! Seriously, If you take the 22 positions on the field I can make a great argument Belfry has an advantage at 17-18 of them...Would Belfry trade Tyler Williams with his decision making, ball handling and big game experence for Boggs? No way...Would Chapman trade Boggs for Tyler, prolly not...I really don't see Central having any advantage over Belfry...I honestly thought last year that PCC had an overall athletic advantage over the Pirates...This year Belfry has added a lot of overall speed and quickness to their normal power...Chapman has a good history of slowing down the Pirates, but unless Belfry goes fumble crazy, I do not see PCC lining up and taking it to Belfry for a whole ballgame...Last year PCC played very solid in the first half, but Belfry has a great track record of adjusments at the half and they dominated the second half with what in reality was a very average Belfry team...Final line...Belfry much better this year...Pike Central not as good as last year...Result Pirates win!!

PC passing game has the advantage over Belfry pass defense. If you don't think Boggs can and will throw it all over the field against Belfry you will be in for a surprise IMO. If PC could have even run the ball at all last year they would have won the game. Can they win this year? Very doubtful, but they will give Belfry problems similar to the problems Prestonsburg gave Belfry.

By the same token, Ashland had a very good passing offense and only managed 88 yards against the Pirates. That's why I love football, things vary on a given night. Another (non-flame starting) questions - Are the Hawks deep? How many different players see the field? I watched them twice now, but I have no recollection of depth.
#20
The Ashland passing attack is alot different than Central's...

I have Belfry in this one. Prove me wrong Hawks.

Belfry 34
Central 22

If Belfry can limit their turnovers, penalties, and do better with their special teams play this weekend I'll take Belfry by 28.
#22
if they get there special teams together that only adds another threat, its got to be the worst phase of this team, why i am not sure...
#23
Pirates by 2 TDS

I agree with you on that for sure..

I don't think their special teams are that bad.

Kickoffs are excellent, as good as they have ever been in my memory.
XP kicking is very good, don't miss many.
FG kicking, who knows. They haven't really attempted any. Judging by XP, they should be good out to about 30-35 yds.

Kick coverage is suspect at times and needs work, that is the only weak link, IMO.

Receiving teams are both better than average.

I've seen BELFRY play 3 times this year and I said all year long BELFRY is better than last year.I also think BELFRY will go undeafeated this year but my son plays for the HAWKS and I've known these boys for a long time I honestly think they can beat BELFRY if they give it 100 percent. The HAWKS has a lot of talent and for the past 3 years they have had good teams.I just like seeing some good games against BELFRY before the last 3 years PCC hasn't even come close in given BELFRY a good game.I will pick the HAWKS by 7 points.Good luck HAWKS

thats funny. Pirates 56-6

Belfry by 2 TD's.

Belfry wins and Haywood gets his very deserving record.

Prestonsburgh did pass against Belfry very well, and Boggs is solid but Ashland would have passed it more if they had anyone open. They tried many times but Qb got sacked or had to run with little success. The adjustments that the coaches have made look to be spot on. If you did not see the Ashland game dont look back to the Pburgh game cause it not the same D dont think Pburgh would have the success they did. Im not saying Boggs wont do good just saying that this D has evolved and is much better today. Belfry lit up LC friday nite and they did not score till 4th on our young up and comers Lc held PCC for three quarters and lost composure in the fourth to give up last two scores. Belfry dominated LC PCC only won against them.LC and Powell run very well on PCC dont think they can handle all the backs belfry has to run for 4 quarters. Willis,Robinson,Johnson,Carr,Dixon,Runyon,Gohrmley all run very well. Try to cheat up and load the box like LC you just may get burned:flame: This is the best D PCC has faced to date!Confusedinglepar.
