I wouldn't want to be playing Ashland immediately after Belfry embarrassed them. I hope there are no injuries. Ashland Blazer wins.

What was said was Ashland would expose every weekness Belfry did not know they have, and that Ashland was faster, and that they would hit harder thats what won for them against Ironton. I think now that you have to eat that crow and the fact that #80 acted so much like a cry baby you should burry your heads in the sand. Yes you all said you would beat us by 14 or more so to lose by 1 but could have been 8 thats why.Confusednicker:

Ashland should win this one big. They may even have their 2nd and 3rd teams in the 3rd quarter.

Cmon, man this greenup vs Ashland? we've discussed all this over on the belfry, Ashland thread. True colors are showing through red & white, everyone keeping it nice an easy so far but Keep bringing up all the garbage. Let's remember it for the barn burner it was! that game went down to final seconds couldve went either way. I for one will keep my head above the sand THANKS!

On to greenup!

I don't look for much out of greenup from what I've been reading an hearing. Haven't seen them in person, but I guess they haver won a game yet so I don't think it'll change this week.

Ashland back on track, with eyes on the prize!!:1:

Yes. For a team as talented and veteran as Ashland, that's a game they should win and did not.

Was it the beginning of Ashland's annual late-season nose dive? Time will tell.

Yes it will.

The Tomcats will be fine,

belfry is that good.

Why single me out bad cat I only responded to the posts that started it. I think it does need to be said like other posts have said Ashland seems to go down hill late season, so I agree that it could be the start of late season problems. I also agree that if Belfry gets to high off that big win they could forget about their next two district games. Ashland should win with no problems, but I have seen a Belfry team forget about Sheldon clark and lose when they should not have. I stand by my post i said it in the context of the conversation, and believe me we had to hear alot of ugly Talk from you tomcat fans going into the game friday. So take it in stride and dont try to tell me what i can or cannot say!:argue:

Wasn't really trying to single u out just thought that was all hashed out on the other thread. That's all. Btw I completely agree about behavior of #80 inexcusable! He's a very good player, it's fine to be upset I would expect no less, but thats way to far.

Ashland wins big
#15
Ashland is going to vent their frustration from last week and win by a large margin.
#16
Ashland big time.
#17
We all know Ashland blows Greenup away in this one. Just maybe we will see coach Hart send someout to kick a extra point for once.

It's good to win isn't it? To appreciate how close the game really was all anyone needs to do is read the Ashland vs Belfry update thread. Both programs are losing a lot of talented seniors this year and you'll have to come back and play at Ashland next year. You need to lay off of #80. Like you he's an imperfect teenager.

Ashland by 3 TD's. They are too deep and talented.

Not meaning to get the thread too far off track, but Belfry should actually be better next year as the 2012 season has been marked as the year Belfry would be at their most dangerous for a while. Last season the Pirates over achieved and are ahead of schedule with their current strength for all intents of purposes. They lose Williams (QB) but Sani Warren should be special as he takes over. Willis will be hard to replace, as well as Dixon and Runyon on defense, but otherwise Belfry returns basically everyone else. Lots of Sophs and Juniors playing for the Bucs.

As for Ashland, I don't think a "late season melt down" is in order by any means. Ashland/JC will be a tossup game, but I am sure Coach Hart is quite happy with the pieces he has in place and the overall health of his team. I am sure the Belfry game will be a real eye opener to some issues the Tomcats had not previously seen exposed and it will only make them stronger moving forward. Ashland couldn't have asked for a better prep for JCHS this late in the season.

Yep. Embarrassed! After all the trash and bragging on (count em') 3 threads, Ashland never lead and was humbled. "It's just Belfry, we own Belfry." Remember now?

The Belfry -Ashland game is over! Move on to another thread. This thread is about Ashland-Greenup County.

Who knows you may be right. I had a different take on the 09 & 10 fades. Ashland had been thin on O/D linemen prior to this year's team. In both of those years several key linemen went down with career ending knee injuries. Unfortunately the players that replaced them just couldn't match that level of play. That's when the Cats faded. The good news was it prepared them for this year.

And FWIW, in 2009 during Ashland's annual nose dive. JC barely eeked out a miracle finish at the end (while trailing) A rarely used backup QB comes in cold and just heaves up a prayer which looks to be headed out of the back of the endzone on 4th and long and JK Hall comes down with it. JC comes from behind late wins 29-28, at home no less. Talking about your games that Ashland should have won. I will say this however, I didn't see anything from the boys in stripes that I thought was questionable. We had no complaints except for that infernal PA system on steroids. And you guys didn't hear a peep out of us except congrats. Ashland's record that year was 9 & 2, you all beat us by 1 and Dixie Heights beat us 46-12 in our playoff game. Annual nose dive?

I felt like Ashland could have concievably won last year too but things were a little more complex. I thought we should have won Friday's game at Belfry too, but here's a word to the wise from a from a guy with no dog in the fight. If you guys face the same team, with the same crew we did it's going to be a hard game. You look past these guys and you'll get tatooed.

Good post. Willis Dixon and Runyon made a lot of plays, the chemistry and leadership they exhibited on the field will be very hard to replace IMO. I believe Belfry will be surprised by the lack of dropoff from this Tomcat team when they come to town next year.

Ashland easily takes this one. Poor Greenup just can't catch a break.

There is no chance that Johnson Central will look past Rowan County or Belfry. With nobody giving JC's defense any chance of slowing down Rowan's offense, the Golden Eagles' starting defense have something to prove. But if Rowan is unable to run on JC, Adam Wing will have a very long night.

As for Belfry, it has not been long since the Golden Eagles won their first game ever against the Pirates and Matney is a Belfry graduate. Everybody expects a tough game when JC meets Belfry, regardless of how Belfry's season has gone up to that point. Belfry is one of those teams that always peaks at playoff time, and they are the last game on the regular season schedule.

All good points. Getting all of that stuff you menttioned lodged in the heads of the players is a different deal. Not predicting an outcome here. I can assure you that Ashland didn't look past them in the classic sense either.

Badcat your rite in that game should remain as the great game it was. No need for the stupid stuff, would like to say Ashland has a very good team and to let you know i was screaming out our player on Ashlands TD that got the unsportsman call i dont care for the foolishness. I would also like to say sorry to you and any Ashland fan i offended. Good luck the rest of the way and i hope to see you guys in Bowling Green!
