Is this guy being a homer or are the Black Bears really the team to beat in the 13th?

Players?

A lot of new coaches in this region... should be interesting!

It's the first time a Harlan County team has been picked to win in at least 10 years and the writer is the same.
Harlan County had the best run in the AAU tourney and was probably the best team, but it's close with at least five teams in the mix and maybe seven or eight. The coaches do the voting every year.

Are these rankings counting tanner Broughton and Devon mills at Barbourville?

Broughton is in the story. Mills didn't play last year, so I doubt that was considered much.

Okay well considering both are at bville do u think the rankings are still the same?

I would say they look about right regaurdless, but hey ive been wrong numerous times. We will see how teams are really stacking up come mid Janurary. October ranking mean NOTHING!

I would go with Barbourville as the top team early because they do not have football. That makes a big difference early in the season because teams like Bell Co., Harlan Co., Knox, and Corbin could make deep runs in football. I would say all of these teams have key players who play both sports. It takes kids 10 or 12 games to get into basketball shape and work the rust out. The 13th region this year is very open. I believe all of these teams could win the region next year (Bell, Harlan Co., Clay, Knox, Barbourville, Corbin, and South L.). I believe the talent level of these 7 teams are about the same.

Somebody says that every year and the rankings are usually not much different between October and March. I could give you the top 10 for 2013 and get 80 percent or more right.
