Another tragedy in Pikeville

I haven't seen anything on the news yet but I have heard from several people today that former Govenor Paul Patton's granddaughter, a soph. at Pikeville High School was found dead in her home this morning in Pikeville. I don't want to say the name of the victim yet until I see something in the news. All prayers go out to Gov. Patton and his family. Has anyone heard anything about this?

I haven't heard anything but this is a tragedy alright.

PLEASE let us know if this proves to be true.

Right now I will sit and wait and hope for the best. This is the first that I have heard of it.

I am hoping someone can confirm this...if any of the other mods have any problems with this being up allready then please fell free to remove it. I was hesistant to put it up and wouldn't have it I didn't believe it to be true. I expect this to be all over the news but I haven't seen anything yet so I am holding out hope that this isn't true.

Thats what my niece called and told me earlier today.. I told her to call back if she heard anything else.. such sad news.. especially with it happening on Christmas

Extremely sad story.
They never put it on the news until they tell all of the family and stuff like that.
If it happened this morning then more than likely, it will be all over the news starting tonight.
I too am hoping that this story isn't true but with everyone hearing the same thing, chances aren't looking bright.
The family is in my thoughts.
This isn't the memories that they should have of their daughter on Christmas.

I looked at the Lexington tv stations website, and there is nothing about this on their sites, and hopefully their won't be anything, but if there is, that is very sad and terrible news. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I did the same but then thought about the fact of it being a Sunday and Christmas a good chance the local TV stations won't have everything updated. Hopefully this isn't true and thats why but you never no.

That she was staying at her other grandparents house and the police dept said it wasn't a homicide but the coroner wasn't ruling homicide out

A sad Christmas for the family of former Kentucky Governor Paul Patton.

A deputy Pike County coroner says family members found 15-year old Judith Paige Johnson dead this morning.

Sources tell 27 NEWSFIRST that Johnson is the granddaughter of former first lady Judi Patton.

Officials say Johnson was staying at the Pikeville home of another grandmother when her body was found in a bedroom.

Officials don't know how Johnson died.

However, Pikeville Police say it's not a homicide investigation, but a deputy coroner says he has not ruled out homicide as a cause of death.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Johnson was a student at Pikeville High School.

WKYT said that the autospy reports show that she died from bacterial menegitis(sp?). according to Gov. Patton. I know the family well and they will all be in my prayers.

Not to be an ass here but I'm not certain that Patton would tell the truth about the whole thing.

Everyone was saying that her brothers had something to do with it and that she was stabbed...not saying that it is true but if it was a family thing then would Patton try to cover it?!?

You would be sick if you had meningitis and would feel bad enough to get it checked out.

I'm sorry but it just sounds strange to me.

My heart goes out to the family though, I don't been to sound stupid about it..it just doesn't add up to me.
